4. Safety Information

Please observe the following safety precautions during installation and use:

  • Ensure the vehicle is parked on a level surface and the ignition is off before starting installation.
  • Exercise caution when handling wiper arms, as they can snap back and cause injury or damage to the windshield.
  • Always place a towel or protective material on the windshield when the wiper arm is lifted to prevent accidental glass damage.
  • Do not operate wipers on a dry windshield, as this can damage the blades and the windshield.
  • Keep children and pets away from the work area during installation.

5. Installation Instructions

5.1 Pre-Installation Steps

  1. Identify Wiper Blades: Match each new wiper blade to its correct position (driving side, passenger side, rear) based on the provided sizes.
  2. Lift Wiper Arm: Gently lift the existing wiper arm away from the windshield until it locks into an upright position.
  3. Protect Windshield: Place a thick towel or protective cloth on the windshield directly under the wiper arm. This prevents the arm from striking and cracking the glass if it accidentally falls.
  4. Remove Protective Cover: Before installing the new blade, locate and remove the lime green protective rubber strip cover from the blade element. This cover is for shipping protection only and must be removed for proper function.

  3. Align Wiper Arm: Position the wiper arm so its end aligns with the opening in the new blade's connector.
  4. Insert Wiper Arm: Slide the wiper arm into the connector until you hear a click or feel it lock securely into place. Ensure the tabs are fully engaged.
  5. Verify Installation: Gently pull on the wiper blade to confirm it is firmly attached to the arm.

6. Operating Instructions

Once installed, operate your new wiper blades as you would your original equipment. For optimal performance and longevity:

  • Always use windshield washer fluid when operating wipers on a dry or lightly soiled windshield.
  • Avoid using wipers to clear heavy ice or snow. Clear these manually first to prevent damage to the blades and wiper motor.
  • Regularly check the windshield for debris that could damage the wiper blades.

7. Maintenance

Proper maintenance can extend the life of your wiper blades:

  • Clean Blades Regularly: Wipe the rubber edge of the blades with a damp cloth or a cloth soaked in windshield washer fluid to remove dirt, grime, and road film.
  • Inspect for Damage: Periodically check the rubber for cracks, tears, or hardening. Replace blades if any damage is observed.
  • Avoid Harsh Chemicals: Do not use petroleum-based cleaners or solvents on the wiper blades, as these can degrade the rubber.
  • Winter Care: In freezing conditions, lift the wiper arms off the windshield when parking to prevent the blades from freezing to the glass.
