3. Setup

3.1 Mounting the Riflescope

Your riflescope comes with a pair of 30mm Weaver scope rings. Ensure your firearm has a compatible Weaver or Picatinny rail. Securely attach the rings to the rail, then place the riflescope into the rings. Adjust the eye relief to your preference before tightening the ring screws. Ensure the reticle is level before final tightening.

3.2 Diopter Adjustment

To achieve a clear reticle image, adjust the diopter. Point the riflescope at a plain, bright background (like the sky) and quickly glance through the eyepiece. Rotate the diopter adjustment ring (+2 to -2) until the reticle appears sharp and clear. Avoid staring through the scope for too long during this process, as your eye may compensate for blurriness.

4.2 Illuminated Reticle

The VI-CTSIX reticle can be illuminated in either red or green, with 5 brightness levels for each color. Rotate the illumination dial on the left side of the main tube to activate and adjust the brightness. This feature enhances visibility in low-light conditions or against dark backgrounds.

4.3 Turret Adjustment (Windage & Elevation)

The riflescope features exposed tactical turrets for windage and elevation adjustments. Each click represents 1/5 MIL. To adjust, pull the turret knob upwards to unlock it, make your adjustments, and then push the knob back down to lock it in place. This prevents accidental changes to your zero. The turrets also feature a zero-reset function.

5. Maintenance

5.1 Cleaning

Use the provided cleaning cloth to gently wipe the lenses and exterior of the riflescope. For stubborn smudges on lenses, use a lens cleaning solution specifically designed for optics and a soft, lint-free cloth. Avoid using abrasive materials or harsh chemicals that could damage the coatings.

5.2 Durability and Storage

The riflescope is built from durable 6061-T6 aluminum alloy, shock-resistant up to 750g, and rated IPX4 water-resistant. The internal lenses are fully nitrogen purged to prevent fogging. Store the riflescope in a dry, cool place, ideally in its original packaging or a protective case, to prevent damage from dust, moisture, and impacts.

6. Troubleshooting

If you encounter any issues with your Victoptics riflescope, please refer to the following common troubleshooting tips:

  • Blurred Image: Ensure the diopter is correctly adjusted for your eye. Check if the lenses are clean and free from smudges or debris.
  • Reticle Not Illuminating: Verify that the battery (CR2032, not included by default but commonly used) is correctly installed and has sufficient charge. Check the illumination dial is turned to an active brightness level.
  • Turrets Not Adjusting: Ensure the turret knobs are pulled up to unlock them before attempting to make adjustments.
  • Loss of Zero: Confirm that the scope rings are securely mounted and tightened to the recommended torque specifications. Excessive recoil or impacts can sometimes cause a shift in zero.
  • Internal Fogging: While the scope is nitrogen purged, extreme temperature changes can sometimes cause temporary external condensation. If internal fogging occurs, contact customer support.
