Setup and First Use

  1. Remove Water Tank: Gently pull out the detachable water tank from the main unit.
  2. Fill Water Tank: Using the provided measuring cup, fill the water tank with distilled or purified water up to the 170ml MAX line. Do not overfill.
  3. Reattach Water Tank: Securely insert the filled water tank back into the steamer until you hear a click.
  4. Plug In: Connect the power cord to a standard electrical outlet. The preheat indicator light will flash red.
  5. Power On: Press the Power Button. The steamer will enter standby mode, and the red light will flash.

Operating Instructions

Preheating and Steam Modes

After plugging in and powering on, the steamer will begin preheating. This takes approximately 15 seconds. The indicator light will change color to show readiness and selected steam mode.

  • Red Light (Flashing): Power on, standby, or auto shut-off state.
  • Blue Light (Solid): High steam mode selected. Ideal for thicker fabrics and stubborn wrinkles (20g/min steam flow).
  • Green Light (Solid): Low steam mode selected. Suitable for thin fabrics and delicate materials (12g/min steam flow).

To switch between steam modes, press the Power Button. The default mode upon boot-up is high steam (blue light).

Activating Steam

  • Once the indicator light stops flashing (preheating complete), press the Steam Button.
  • For continuous steam, press and hold the Steam Button for more than 3 seconds.
  • For bursting steam (intermittent), quickly press the Steam Button twice.

Steaming Techniques

The Oragerju BG573 supports both vertical and horizontal steaming.

  • Vertical Steaming: Hang the garment on a hanger. Hold the steamer upright and move it slowly over the fabric, allowing the steam to penetrate.
  • Horizontal Steaming/Ironing: Place the garment on a flat, heat-resistant surface. Use the steamer like an iron, pressing the soleplate gently against the fabric while emitting steam.

Auto Shut-Off Feature

For safety, the steamer will automatically shut off if left idle for 8 minutes after preheating without the steam switch being activated. The red light will flash to indicate this state. Unplug the power supply when not in use.

Maintenance

Cleaning

  • Always unplug the steamer and allow it to cool completely before cleaning.
  • Empty any remaining water from the tank after each use.
  • Wipe the exterior of the steamer with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
  • If mineral buildup occurs in the steam outlet, gently wipe with a cotton swab dampened with white vinegar, then wipe with a clean, damp cloth.

Storage

  • Ensure the steamer is completely cool and dry before storing.
  • The handle can be folded for compact storage.
  • Store the steamer in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and moisture.
