1. Setup

1.1 Package Contents

1.2 Connecting the Document Camera

The PAKOTOO USB Document Camera is designed for easy connection to your computer. It includes a USB-C cable and a USB-C to USB-A adapter for broad compatibility.

  1. Connect the USB-C end of the camera cable to the document camera base.
  2. If your computer has a USB-C port (e.g., MacBook), connect the USB-C end of the cable directly to your computer.
  3. If your computer has a USB-A port (e.g., Windows PC), attach the provided USB-C to USB-A adapter to the USB-C end of the camera cable, then connect the USB-A adapter to your computer's USB-A port.
  4. Ensure the connection is secure and the port is correctly aligned.

1.3 Launching the PC Camera Function

After the document camera is correctly connected and detected by your PC, you are ready to use the PC Camera function.

  • For Mac systems: Please search for "QuickTime Player" from your system. Open QuickTime Player, select "File" > "New Movie Recording", then choose "USB Camera" from the camera dropdown menu.
  • For Windows 10/11 systems: Please search for the "Camera" program in the system. Open the Camera app and select "USB Camera" if it doesn't automatically default.
  • For Windows XP/7/8 and other systems: If your system does not find any video software, please email customer service for assistance.

2. Operating Instructions

2.1 Product Overview and Features

The PAKOTOO USB Document Camera is a versatile 3-in-1 device functioning as a document camera, webcam, and visualizer. Its flexible gooseneck design allows for capturing images and videos from various angles, supporting up to A3 paper size.

2.2 Controls on the Base

  • Autofocus Button (AF): Press once to automatically focus the image. This ensures clarity for documents or objects being displayed.
  • Image Invert/Mirroring Button: Allows manual adjustment for image inversion or left and right mirroring, useful for video chats or remote teaching.
  • LED Light Control: Features a 3-level LED fill light to illuminate documents in various lighting conditions.
  • ISO Exposure Adjustment: Manually adjust the 5-level ISO exposure to achieve perfectly sharp images in imperfect lighting.

2.3 Adjusting the Gooseneck

The flexible gooseneck allows you to position the camera head precisely over your documents or objects. It can capture a maximum area equivalent to A3 paper size.

  • Adjust the gooseneck to achieve the desired height and angle for your subject.
  • The camera can reach a maximum height of approximately 17.3 inches and a minimum macro focus range of 3.94 inches.

3. Maintenance

  • Keep the device clean by wiping it with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid using harsh chemicals.
  • Do not bend the gooseneck hose too quickly or with excessive force to prevent damage to the internal wiring.
  • Store the camera in a cool, dry place when not in use.
  • Avoid dropping the device or subjecting it to strong impacts.
