1. Important Safety Information

Please read all instructions carefully before installation and operation. Failure to follow these instructions may result in electric shock, fire, or personal injury.

  • Electrical Safety: Ensure the fireplace is connected to a properly grounded 120V, 15-amp circuit. Do not overload the circuit.
  • Placement: Maintain proper clearance from combustible materials. Do not block air vents.
  • Heat Output: This electric fireplace is designed for supplemental heat and is not intended as a primary heat source. The heater outlet can become hot during operation.
  • Overheat Protection: The unit is equipped with an automatic overheat protection system. If the heater overheats, it will shut off automatically. Unplug the unit and allow it to cool before restarting.
  • Children and Pets: Keep children and pets away from the fireplace, especially when the heater is active.

4. Setup and Installation

The LegendFlame Jaden electric fireplace insert is designed for easy installation into existing fireplace openings or custom mantel surrounds.

4.1 Unpacking

Carefully remove all components from the packaging. Inspect the unit for any shipping damage. Retain packaging for future storage or transport.

4.2 Placement

Ensure the chosen location meets the required clearances for safe operation. The unit requires a minimum depth of 6 inches. The 7-inch front trim is suitable for various fireplace openings.

4.3 Attaching the Trim Kit

The trim kit consists of one top piece and two side pieces. Align the trim pieces with the corresponding slots on the fireplace insert and secure them according to the assembly instructions provided in the package. This process is designed to be simple and clear.

4.4 Inserting the Unit

Once the trim kit is attached, carefully slide the assembled fireplace insert into the prepared opening. Ensure it sits flush and is stable. The slim 6-inch design takes less room space.

4.5 Electrical Connection

Plug the 6-foot power cable into a standard 120V, 15-amp grounded electrical outlet. Do not use extension cords or power strips.

5. Operating Instructions

The LegendFlame Jaden fireplace can be operated using the included remote control or the manual control buttons located behind the louvre on the unit.

5.1 Power On/Off

Press the Power button on the remote or the unit to turn the fireplace on or off.

5.2 Flame Effect Adjustment

The unit features a dimmable LED flame effect with glowing embers. There are 5 settings for flame brightness. Use the Flame button on the remote to cycle through the brightness levels.

5.3 Heater Operation

The fireplace has two heat settings: 750W and 1500W. Use the Heater button on the remote to activate the heater and adjust the temperature. The adjustable thermostat allows you to set your desired room temperature. The unit can also operate in an auto mode to maintain a set temperature.

5.4 Crackling Sound

A built-in speaker simulates the sound of charcoal crackling. Use the Crackling Sound button on the remote to turn the sound on/off and adjust its volume (5 settings).

5.5 Timer Function

The programmable timer allows you to set the fireplace to operate for a duration between 0.5 and 9 hours. A weekly timer for the heater is also available. Use the Countdown Timer and Weekly Timer buttons on the remote to configure these settings.

5.6 Remote Control

The multi-functional remote control with an LCD display provides convenient operation of all features from a distance. Ensure the remote has working batteries.

6. Maintenance

Regular maintenance ensures optimal performance and longevity of your electric fireplace.

6.1 Cleaning

  • Exterior: Wipe the exterior surfaces with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or sprays.
  • Air Intake/Outlet: Periodically vacuum the air intake and outlet vents to prevent dust buildup, which can affect heating efficiency.

6.2 Storage

If storing the fireplace for an extended period, unplug it and store it in a dry, dust-free location. It is recommended to use the original packaging for protection.

7. Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your fireplace, refer to the following common problems and solutions:

  • No Power: Check if the power cord is securely plugged into a working outlet. Verify the circuit breaker has not tripped.
  • No Heat: Ensure the heater function is activated and the thermostat is set above the current room temperature. Check for any obstructions in the air vents.
  • No Flame Effect: Confirm the flame effect is turned on via the remote or manual controls.
  • Remote Control Not Working: Replace the batteries in the remote control. Ensure there are no obstructions between the remote and the fireplace sensor.
  • Unit Shuts Off Unexpectedly: This may indicate the overheat protection system has activated. Unplug the unit, allow it to cool for 15-20 minutes, and check for any blocked vents before restarting.
