1. Introduction

This manual provides detailed instructions for the installation, operation, and maintenance of your abetap X83 Wireless Security Camera. This 2K Ultra HD camera features color night vision, AI/PIR detection, two-way audio, and is designed for both indoor and outdoor use. Please read this manual thoroughly before using the product to ensure proper functionality and safety.

4. Setup Instructions

4.1 Initial Charging

Before first use, fully charge the camera using the provided USB charging cable. Connect the cable to the camera's charging port and a standard USB power adapter (not included). The charging indicator light will show the charging status.

4.2 App Download and Account Registration

  1. Scan the QR code provided in the user guide or search for the 'VicoHome' app on the Apple App Store or Google Play Store.
  2. Download and install the 'VicoHome' app on your smartphone.
  3. Open the app and register a new account. Follow the on-screen prompts to complete the registration process.

4.3 Adding the Camera to the App

  1. Ensure your smartphone is connected to a 2.4GHz Wi-Fi network. The camera only supports 2.4GHz Wi-Fi.
  2. In the VicoHome app, tap the '+' icon to add a new device.
  3. Select the X83 camera model from the list.
  4. Follow the in-app instructions to connect the camera to your Wi-Fi network. This typically involves scanning a QR code displayed on your phone with the camera's lens.
  5. Once connected, you can name your camera and begin live viewing.

4.4 Mounting the Camera

The abetap X83 camera features a magnetic mount for flexible placement.

  1. Magnetic Mount: The camera can be directly attached to any metal surface.
  2. Screw-in Mount: For non-metal surfaces, use the provided mounting screw kit.
    • Choose a suitable location for optimal viewing, ensuring good Wi-Fi signal strength.
    • Drill pilot holes if necessary and secure the magnetic stand base to the desired surface using the screws.
    • Attach the camera to the magnetic stand. Adjust the camera angle as needed.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1 Live View and Recording

Open the VicoHome app and select your camera to view the live feed. You can manually record video or capture screenshots directly from the live view interface.

5.2 Two-Way Audio

From the live view, tap the microphone icon to initiate two-way communication. Speak into your phone to transmit audio through the camera's speaker, and listen through your phone's speaker for audio from the camera's microphone.

5.3 Motion Detection and Alerts

  • Enable/Disable: Access camera settings in the app to enable or disable motion detection.
  • Sensitivity: Adjust the PIR detection sensitivity to minimize false alarms.
  • Custom Zones: Define specific areas within the camera's field of view for motion detection. This helps focus surveillance on critical areas and ignore irrelevant movements.
  • Alerts: When motion is detected, the camera will trigger recordings and send real-time push notifications to your smartphone.

5.4 Night Vision Modes

The camera automatically switches between night vision modes based on ambient light:

  • Infrared Mode: Provides clear monochrome images in complete darkness.
  • Full-Color Night Vision: Activates the built-in white light to capture vivid color details in low-light environments.

5.5 Storage Options

  • Cloud Storage: Recorded events can be stored securely in the cloud. Check the VicoHome app for subscription options and trial periods.
  • Micro SD Card: Insert a Micro SD card (up to 128GB, not included) into the camera's designated slot for local storage of recordings.

6. Maintenance

6.1 Battery Charging

The camera's battery life varies based on usage frequency. Refer to the table below for estimated battery life:

When the battery level is low, recharge the camera using the USB charging cable. The magnetic mount allows for easy removal for charging.

6.2 Cleaning

6.3 Firmware Upgrades

The camera supports over-the-air (OTA) firmware upgrades. The VicoHome app will notify you when new firmware versions are available. Follow the in-app instructions to update the camera's firmware to access new features and improvements.

7. Troubleshooting

  • Camera not connecting to Wi-Fi: Ensure your Wi-Fi network is 2.4GHz. Check Wi-Fi signal strength at the camera's location. Restart your router and the camera.
  • Frequent false alarms: Adjust the motion detection sensitivity in the app. Define custom detection zones to exclude areas with irrelevant movement (e.g., swaying trees).
  • Poor night vision quality: Ensure the camera lens is clean. Check for obstructions blocking the infrared or white lights.
  • Battery draining quickly: High motion detection frequency and frequent live viewing can reduce battery life. Adjust settings or consider a location with less activity.
  • Two-way audio issues: Ensure your phone's volume is up and the camera's microphone/speaker are not obstructed. Check app permissions for microphone access.
  • SD card not recording: Ensure the SD card is correctly inserted and formatted within the app. Check if the SD card is full or corrupted.
