Deep Cleaning / Descaling:
Descaling is necessary to remove mineral deposits that can affect machine performance and coffee taste. The frequency depends on water hardness and usage, but generally every 3-6 months. The yellow indicator light flashing may also signal a need for descaling.
- Prepare Descaling Solution: Use a commercially available descaling solution suitable for coffee machines, following the manufacturer's instructions for dilution. Fill the water tank with the solution.
- Run Descaling Cycle: Place a large container under the coffee outlet. Turn on the machine. Press and hold both the Espresso and Lungo buttons simultaneously for a few seconds to initiate the descaling cycle (refer to specific descaling mode if available in future models, otherwise run multiple Lungo cycles). The machine will dispense the solution.
- Rinse: After the descaling solution has been dispensed, rinse the water tank thoroughly and fill it with fresh water. Run several full water cycles (Lungo button) to rinse out any remaining descaling solution.
