- To power off: Press and hold the "OFF/CLEAR" button. The device will also automatically power off after a period of inactivity to conserve battery.
Operating Instructions
1. Manual Tape Measure Usage
The integrated 16 ft (5m) manual tape measure functions like a standard tape. Pull the blade out to the desired length. The blade features both imperial (feet/inches) and metric (cm/mm) markings for versatility. Use the blade lock button to hold the tape in place.

Image: Top panel shows a person using the 16ft manual tape measure to measure a wooden board. Bottom panel shows the laser measure in use, projecting a red laser line across a wooden surface.
The magnetic swivel hook at the end of the tape allows for accurate internal and external measurements. For external measurements, hook the end onto the edge of the object. For internal measurements, push the hook against the inside corner; the hook's thickness is automatically compensated for.

Image: A diagram demonstrating how the powerful magnetic swivel hook facilitates precise measurements, showing its use for both external (hooked over an edge) and internal (pushed against a surface) measurements, with arrows indicating the measurement direction.
2. Laser Measurement Usage
The laser measure provides highly accurate digital readings up to 197 ft (60m). Ensure the laser emitter is unobstructed.
Changing Measurement Units
Press the "Measurement Benchmarks/Unit Switching" button to cycle through available units: feet (ft), feet+inches (ft+in), inches (in), and meters (m).
Changing Reference Point
The laser measurement can be taken from the front or rear of the device. Press and hold the "Measurement Benchmarks/Unit Switching" button to toggle the reference point. An icon on the LCD will indicate the current reference point (e.g., an arrow pointing from the front or rear of the device).

Image: A diagram illustrating base compensation for both tape and laser measurements. It shows how the ruler hook adjusts for zero scale in tape measurement and how the laser reference point can be adjusted to the front or rear of the device for accurate readings, especially when an obstruction is present.
Measurement Modes
The device supports several laser measurement modes:

Image: A visual guide demonstrating the application of various measurement modes: Distance (single point), Area (length x width), Volume (length x width x height), Continuous (real-time tracking), Pythagorean (2-point for height), and Pythagorean (3-point for complex height/distance).
- Single Distance Measurement:
- Press "MEAS" once to activate the laser.
- Aim the laser at the target point.
- Press "MEAS" again to take the measurement. The result will appear on the LCD.
- Continuous Measurement:
- From single distance mode, press and hold "MEAS" for a few seconds. The device will enter continuous measurement mode, displaying real-time distance as you move.
- Press "MEAS" again to stop.
- Area Measurement:
- Press the "Area, Volume, Pythagoras" button until the area icon (rectangle) appears on the LCD.
- Take the first measurement (e.g., length) by pressing "MEAS".
- Take the second measurement (e.g., width) by pressing "MEAS". The device will automatically calculate and display the area.
- Volume Measurement:
- Press the "Area, Volume, Pythagoras" button until the volume icon (cube) appears on the LCD.
- Take three consecutive measurements (length, width, height) by pressing "MEAS" after each. The device will calculate and display the volume.
- Pythagorean Measurement (2-point):
- Press the "Area, Volume, Pythagoras" button until the 2-point Pythagorean icon appears.
- Measure the hypotenuse (diagonal distance).
- Measure one leg (horizontal or vertical distance). The device will calculate the other leg (e.g., height).
- Pythagorean Measurement (3-point):
- Press the "Area, Volume, Pythagoras" button until the 3-point Pythagorean icon appears.
- Follow the on-screen prompts to take three measurements to determine an unknown height or distance in more complex scenarios.
Maintenance
- Cleaning: Use a soft, damp cloth to clean the device. Do not use abrasive cleaners or immerse the device in water. Ensure the laser lens and display are kept clean for accurate readings.
- Storage: Store the device in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
- Battery Care: Recharge the battery regularly, even if the device is not in frequent use, to maintain battery health. Avoid fully discharging the battery for extended periods.
- Blade Inspection: Periodically inspect the manual tape blade for any signs of wear, kinks, or damage.
Troubleshooting
