Installation

1. Attach the provided suction cups to the heater body. Ensure they are securely fastened.
2. Place the heater fully submerged in your aquarium. It can be positioned vertically or horizontally, but ensure it is not buried in the substrate.
3. Secure the heater to the aquarium glass using the suction cups. Ensure there is adequate water flow around the heater for even heat distribution.
4. Once the heater is properly positioned and fully submerged, plug the power cord into a suitable electrical outlet.

Operating Instructions

1. After installation, allow the heater to acclimate to the water temperature for at least 15 minutes before plugging it in.
2. Adjust the red temperature setting knob located at the top of the heater to your desired temperature. The heater has a temperature range of 68-93 degrees Fahrenheit (20-34 degrees Celsius).
3. The heater features an automatic on/off function. It will heat the water until the set temperature is reached, then automatically turn off. It will reactivate when the water temperature drops below the set point.
4. An indicator light on the heater will illuminate when the heating element is active.

Maintenance

• Regularly check the heater for any mineral buildup or algae growth.
• To clean, unplug the heater and remove it from the aquarium. Gently wipe the glass tube with a soft cloth or sponge. Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive materials.
• Ensure the heater is completely dry before re-installing it into the aquarium.
• Always allow the heater to cool down for at least 15 minutes after unplugging before removing it from the water.

Troubleshooting

• Heater not heating: Ensure the power plug is inserted securely. Check that the temperature setting is set on the desired temperature. Verify the heater is receiving power.
• Incorrect temperature reading: Double-check the thermometer setting on the heater. Use a separate thermometer to confirm the actual water temperature. If there's a significant discrepancy, recalibrate the heater or consider replacing it.
• Heater is not turning on/off: If the heater shows any sign of abnormal operation, unplug the power and remove the heater from the water after 15 minutes. Carefully examine the heater for any damage.
• Water temperature too high/low: If the room temperature is cooler than the heater's set temperature by 10 degrees or more, or if the tank size is at the higher end of the recommended range for the wattage, a higher wattage heater may be needed.
