String Installation and Tuning

The FEH-50B features a headless design with a unique string locking and tuning system. Standard electric guitar strings can be used.

  1. String Locking Nut: At the headstock end, loosen the string locking screws on the nut. Insert the string through the appropriate hole and tighten the screw to secure it.
  2. Bridge Tuning System: At the bridge, insert the other end of the string into the corresponding tuner mechanism.
  3. Tuning: Use the fine tuners located at the bridge to adjust the pitch of each string. Turn clockwise to raise the pitch and counter-clockwise to lower it.

Maintenance

Cleaning

Regularly wipe down the guitar with a soft, dry cloth after use to remove sweat and fingerprints. For the body, a guitar-specific polish can be used sparingly. Clean the fretboard with a suitable fretboard conditioner periodically to prevent drying and cracking.

String Replacement

Strings should be replaced regularly, depending on usage, to maintain optimal tone and playability. Refer to the "String Installation and Tuning" section for guidance on replacing strings on this headless system.

Storage

When not in use, store the guitar in its gig bag or a hard case to protect it from dust, humidity changes, and physical damage. Avoid exposing the guitar to extreme temperatures or direct sunlight.

Troubleshooting

  • No Sound:
    • Check if the amplifier is turned on and volume is up.
    • Ensure the instrument cable is securely connected at both ends.
    • Verify the guitar's volume knob is turned up.
    • Test with a different cable or amplifier if possible.
  • Buzzing or Fret Noise:
    • Check string action (height) at the bridge.
    • Ensure strings are properly seated in the nut and bridge.
    • Consider professional setup if buzzing persists.
  • Poor Tuning Stability:
    • Ensure strings are stretched properly after installation.
    • Check that string locking screws at the nut are tight.
    • Inspect strings for wear or damage; replace if necessary.
