6. Installation

Wiring Instructions:

The receiver is designed for easy installation between your power supply and the device you wish to control. It supports both AC and DC devices. Refer to the wiring diagram below for proper connection.

  1. Power Supply Connection: Connect your DC 6V-30V power supply to the VIN and GND terminals on the receiver. Ensure correct polarity.
  2. Device Connection (AC Device Example): For controlling an AC device (e.g., an AC light bulb), connect the AC power source to the COM terminal of a channel (e.g., COM1). Connect one wire from the AC device to the NO (Normally Open) terminal of the same channel (e.g., NO1). The other wire of the AC device connects directly to the neutral line of the AC power source.
  3. Device Connection (DC Device Example): For controlling a DC device (e.g., a DC light bulb), connect the positive (+) terminal of your DC power source to the COM terminal of a channel (e.g., COM1). Connect the positive (+) wire from the DC device to the NO (Normally Open) terminal of the same channel (e.g., NO1). The negative (-) wire of the DC device connects directly to the negative (-) line of the DC power source.
  4. Multiple Channels: The receiver has 4 channels. Repeat the device connection steps for each channel you intend to use.

The top diagram shows the receiver connected to a DC 5V-30V power input and controlling an AC device (AC 1V-250V light bulbs) via its passive output terminals (NO, COM, NC). The bottom diagram shows the receiver connected to a DC 5V-30V power input and controlling DC devices (DC 1V-250V light bulbs) using the same passive output terminals.

Mounting:

The receiver is compact and designed to be placed within an electrical box or other suitable enclosure for safety and protection. Ensure adequate ventilation and avoid mounting in areas with extreme temperatures or moisture.

7. Operating Modes

The eMylo Wireless Relay Switch supports multiple operating modes: Momentary, Toggle, and Latched. The factory default mode is Toggle. You can adjust the working mode based on your application requirements.

Diagram illustrating Momentary, Toggle, and Latched operating modes for eMylo RF Remote Control Switch

Image: A visual guide explaining the three operating modes of the eMylo RF Remote Control Switch. Momentary Mode: Press and hold button A to turn ON, release A to turn OFF. Toggle Mode: Press button A to turn ON, press A again to turn OFF. Latched Mode: Press button A to turn ON, press button B to turn OFF.

Mode Descriptions:

  • Momentary Mode: The relay remains active only while the remote button is pressed. Releasing the button deactivates the relay. This is suitable for applications like electric door locks or garage door openers where temporary activation is needed.
  • Toggle Mode: Each press of the remote button reverses the relay's state. Press once to turn ON, press again to turn OFF. This is ideal for controlling lights or fans.
  • Latched Mode: Pressing one remote button (e.g., 'A') turns the relay ON, and it stays ON until another specific remote button (e.g., 'B') is pressed to turn it OFF. This mode is useful for applications requiring a distinct ON and OFF command.

Programming Operating Modes:

The specific programming steps may vary slightly. Always refer to the detailed instructions provided in your physical user manual for precise button sequences. A common programming sequence involves:

  1. Clear Existing Codes: Press and hold the learning button on the receiver for approximately 8 seconds until the indicator light flashes rapidly, then turns off. This clears all previously paired remotes.
  2. Enter Learning Mode: Press the learning button on the receiver once for Toggle mode, twice for Momentary mode, or three times for Latched mode. The indicator light will turn on, indicating it's in learning mode.
  3. Pair Remote: While the indicator light is on, press the desired button on your remote control (e.g., button 'A' for Toggle/Momentary, or button 'A' then 'B' for Latched mode). The indicator light on the receiver will flash a few times and then turn off, confirming successful pairing.
  4. Test: Test the remote control to ensure the desired mode is active.
