1. Product Overview
The Greenworks 80V 18" TruBrushless Chainsaw (Gen 2) is a high-performance, battery-powered tool designed for efficient cutting tasks. Featuring an 18-inch bar and chain, it is ideal for tree felling, limbing, pruning, and cutting firewood. Its advanced brushless motor delivers increased power, torque, and extended runtime comparable to a 42CC gas chainsaw, all without the need for gas, oil mixing, or pull cords.
This chainsaw is part of the Greenworks 80V system, offering compatibility with over 50 tools and batteries. It includes an automatic oiler for continuous chain lubrication and a mechanical chain brake for enhanced safety.

2. Safety Instructions
Always prioritize safety when operating the chainsaw. Read and understand all instructions before use. Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE), including safety glasses, hearing protection, gloves, and sturdy footwear.
Mechanical Chain Brake
The chainsaw is equipped with a mechanical chain brake designed to stop the chain's rotation if activated by the operator's hand or if the saw kicks back with sufficient force. Ensure the chain brake is functioning correctly before each use.

Double Safety Design
The chainsaw incorporates a double safety design to prevent accidental starts. This includes a lock-out button and a trigger. Both must be engaged simultaneously to operate the saw.

3. Package Contents
Your Greenworks 80V 18" TruBrushless Chainsaw package includes:
- Greenworks 80V 18" TruBrushless Chainsaw (Tool Only)
- Instruction Manual
Note: Battery and charger are sold separately.
4. Assembly
Before assembly, ensure the battery is removed from the chainsaw and wear protective gloves.
Bar and Chain Installation
- Remove the chainsaw cover by unscrewing the nuts.
- Place the chain drive links into the bar groove.
- Position the chain and bar around the drive sprocket. Ensure the chain is in the correct direction.
- Screw the tension bolt to align the pin into the hole properly.
- Replace the chainsaw cover, but do not completely tighten the nuts yet.
Chain Tension Adjustment
Proper chain tension is crucial for safe and efficient operation. The correct chain tension allows for 3mm - 4mm of play when pulled from the bar. Adjust the tension by wrenching the tension adjuster:
- Screw clockwise to tighten the chain.
- Screw anti-clockwise to loosen the chain.
Once the chain is well-tensioned, tighten the cover nuts securely.

6. Maintenance
Chain Lubrication
Regularly check and refill the automatic oiler reservoir with quality bar and chain oil to ensure the chain remains adequately lubricated. This extends chain life and maintains cutting performance.
General Care
Keep the chainsaw clean and free of sawdust and debris. Inspect the bar and chain for wear or damage before and after each use. Store the chainsaw in a dry, secure location with the chain cover in place.
