2. Time Zone and Daylight Saving Time Selection
On the back of the clock, locate the switches for Time Zone and Daylight Saving Time (DST).
- Time Zone: Select your appropriate US time zone (EST, CST, MST, or PST).
- Daylight Saving Time (DST): Set the switch to ON for automatic DST adjustments or OFF to disable this feature.
3. Initial Time Synchronization
After installing the battery and setting the switches, the clock hands will move to the 12:00 position and begin searching for the WWVB atomic time signal from Fort Collins, Colorado. This process can take some time.
- Position the clock on an exterior wall, ideally facing Fort Collins, Colorado, or near a window for optimal signal reception.
- Keep the clock at least six feet away from electronic devices such as computers, TVs, air conditioners, other atomic clocks and other electrical appliances that cause interference.
- Do not attempt to manually reset the hands during the synchronization process. The clock will automatically adjust to the correct time once the signal is decoded. This may take up to 5 nights.

Operation
Your La Crosse Technology Atomic Analog Wall Clock is designed for automatic, precise timekeeping.
- Atomic Time: The clock automatically sets itself to the exact time via a radio signal and updates regularly to maintain accuracy.
- Daylight Saving Time: If the DST switch is set to ON, the clock will automatically adjust for Daylight Saving Time changes in spring and fall.
- Manual Setting: While the clock is designed for atomic synchronization, it can be manually set if necessary, though this is not recommended for long-term accuracy. To manually set, press the "SET" button on the back of the clock repeatedly to advance the hands.
Maintenance
Battery Replacement
When the clock hands stop moving or the time becomes inaccurate, it is time to replace the battery. Follow the battery installation steps in the Setup section, ensuring to use a fresh AA alkaline battery.
Cleaning
To clean the clock, use a soft, dry cloth. Avoid abrasive cleaners or chemicals that may damage the wood frame or glass lens.
Troubleshooting
Time is Incorrect or Not Setting
If the clock displays incorrect time or fails to synchronize, consider the following:
- WWVB Signal Interference: Electrical storms or large structures between your location and Fort Collins, Colorado, can interfere with the atomic signal.
- Battery Check: Replace the battery with a fresh AA alkaline battery. Perform a factory restart by removing the battery for 15 minutes, then pressing the "SET" button at least 20 times to clear memory before reinserting the new battery.
- Repositioning: Try moving the clock to a different location, ideally near a window, with the front or back facing Fort Collins, Colorado. Ensure it is away from other electronic devices that may cause interference.
- Synchronization Time: Allow up to 5 nights for the clock to receive and decode the WWVB signal and set itself accurately.
