Operating Instructions
1. Device Display Overview
Understand the various indicators on your VGW-10X display for effective monitoring.

Figure 4: Detailed explanation of the VGW-10X display elements.
- Icon [REC]: Displays when recording is enabled.
- Vacuum display: Shows the currently measured vacuum value. Units can be set to microns, Torr, mTorr, inHg, Pa, KPa, mbar, or psia.
- Icon [ ]: Displays when Bluetooth connection is active.
- Icon [ ]: Indicates battery capacity (four levels: >75%, >50%, >25%, <5%).
- Temperature display: Shows the currently measured temperature. Measurement parameters include TH2O (evaporation temperature of water), Tamb (ambient temperature), and ΔT (Tamb-TH2O). Units can be set to °C/°F.
2. Advanced APP Functionality ("AI Tools")
The "AI Tools" app enhances the functionality of your vacuum gauge, providing robust features for professional use.
- Real-time Monitoring: Monitor evacuation progress in HVAC or heat pump systems directly from your mobile device.
- Data Logging: Log vacuum and temperature data for comprehensive analysis.
- Target Setting: Set decay target values for leak tests.
- Graphical Data View: View real-time data in intuitive graphs.
- Alerts & Vibrations: Receive instant notifications or vibrations when vacuum values reach set targets (evacuation/decay).
- Documentation: Generate reports in PDF or Excel formats for record-keeping and client presentation.

3. Temperature Compensation
The VGW-10X features an advanced ambient compensating design that automatically adjusts for varying temperature conditions. This ensures accurate readings without the need for manual adjustments, improving reliability in diverse environments.

Figure 6: Temperature compensation ensures accurate measurements regardless of ambient temperature.
4. Understanding Water Status in Cooling Systems
The device helps you understand the physical status of H2O (liquid or vapor) within a cooling system by comparing ambient temperature and water saturation temperature. This insight is crucial for proper system evacuation.

Maintenance
1. Sensor Cleaning
To maintain accuracy, regularly inspect the sensor for any oil stains or contamination. If the screen displays "------" and it's not due to being out of range, a polluted sensor or film layer may need cleaning. Refer to the troubleshooting section for more details on this error.
2. Battery Care
Recharge the device using the Type-C port when the battery indicator shows low capacity. Avoid fully discharging the battery frequently to prolong its lifespan. Store the device in a cool, dry place when not in use for extended periods.
Troubleshooting
"------" Display on Screen
If the screen displays "------", it typically indicates one of the following conditions:
- Out of VGW-10X measuring range: The vacuum level is outside the device's measurable range (1 to 19000 microns). Refer to the specifications for detailed range limits for each unit.
- High precision sensor polluted: The sensor or its film layer may be contaminated and requires cleaning.
- High precision sensor damaged: The sensor may be physically damaged. In this case, contact customer support.

Special Notes for Use
Adhering to these guidelines will help ensure accurate readings and proper device function:
- Before using the vacuum gauge, check for any oil stains on the joint. Exclude sensor contamination by oil.
- Connect the micron gauge as vertically as possible to the system. Liquid in the pipeline will directly enter the vacuum gauge chamber through the joint due to gravity, which can affect readings.
- Vacuum gauges should be connected to the system as far away from the vacuum pump as possible. The vacuum gauge measures the vacuum value at your connection point. To measure the true vacuum value in the refrigeration system, it needs to be measured closer to the system for accuracy.
- Before turning off the vacuum pump, close the valve to isolate the pump from the system. A small amount of air in the valve body can affect the accuracy of the system's vacuum value.
