1. Introduction

The Juarez JRK670 is designed for beginners, students, and amateur musicians. It features 61 lighted keys to assist in learning, a diverse sound library with 300 tones and rhythms, 40 demo songs, and various functions like recording, playback, and pitch bend. Connectivity options include USB, Micro SD, Aux-in, and USB-MIDI. The keyboard operates with dual power modes and includes built-in stereo speakers, microphone input, and a headphone jack.

3. Setup

3.1 Unpacking and Placement

Carefully remove the keyboard and all accessories from the packaging. Place the keyboard on a stable, flat surface. Ensure adequate space around the keyboard for comfortable playing and access to connections.

3.2 Attaching the Note Stand

Insert the note stand into the designated slots on the top panel of the keyboard. Ensure it is securely seated.

3.3 Powering the Keyboard

The JRK670 can be powered using the included AC power adapter or batteries (not included).

  • AC Power Adapter: Connect the power adapter to the DC IN jack on the rear of the keyboard. Plug the other end into a standard electrical outlet.
  • Battery Power: Open the battery compartment on the underside of the keyboard. Insert the required number of D-size batteries (refer to the compartment for specific quantity and polarity). Close the compartment securely.

It is recommended to remove batteries when using the AC adapter for extended periods or when the keyboard will not be used for a long time.

3.4 Initial Power On

Press the POWER button located on the control panel to turn on the keyboard. The LCD display will illuminate, indicating the keyboard is ready for use.

4. Operating Instructions

4.1 Control Panel Overview

The control panel provides access to all keyboard functions. Familiarize yourself with the buttons and the LCD display.

4.2 Adjusting Volume

Use the MASTER VOLUME knob or buttons (if present) to adjust the overall sound output level.

4.3 Selecting Tones (Voices)

Press the TONE button, then use the number pad or +/- buttons to select from the 300 available tones. The selected tone number will appear on the LCD display.

4.4 Selecting Rhythms (Styles)

Press the RHYTHM button, then use the number pad or +/- buttons to select from the 300 available rhythms. Press START/STOP to begin or end the rhythm playback.

4.5 Playing Demo Songs

Press the DEMO button to cycle through the 40 built-in demo songs. Press it again to stop playback or select the next song.

4.6 Using Lighted Keys and Teaching Modes

The JRK670 features 61 lighted keys and 3 teaching modes to aid in learning:

  • One-Key Mode: The keyboard waits for you to play the correct note indicated by the lighted key.
  • Follow Mode: The keyboard plays the melody, and you follow along, playing the lighted keys.
  • Ensemble Mode: The keyboard plays the accompaniment, and you play the melody.

4.7 Recording and Playback

To record your performance:

  1. Press the RECORD button. The record indicator will light up.
  2. Play your desired melody.
  3. Press RECORD again to stop recording.

To play back your recorded melody, press the PLAYBACK button.

4.8 Pitch Bend Wheel

Use the PITCH BEND wheel on the left side of the keyboard to momentarily raise or lower the pitch of the notes you are playing, adding expressive effects.

4.9 Connectivity Options

  • USB Port: Connect to a computer for MIDI data transfer or to a USB flash drive for playback/recording (check manual for specific USB functions).
  • Micro SD Card Slot: Insert a Micro SD card for additional storage or playback of audio files (check manual for supported formats).
  • Aux-in: Connect an external audio device (e.g., smartphone, MP3 player) using a 3.5mm audio cable to play music through the keyboard's speakers.
  • Microphone Input: Connect a microphone (not included) to sing along while playing.

5. Maintenance

  • Cleaning: Wipe the keyboard surface with a soft, dry cloth. For stubborn dirt, use a slightly damp cloth and mild soap, then wipe dry immediately. Avoid abrasive cleaners, solvents, or waxes.
  • Storage: When not in use, store the keyboard in a clean, dry place away from direct sunlight, extreme temperatures, and high humidity.
