Descaling (Removing Water Scale):
Mineral deposits (limescale) can build up inside the kettle over time, especially in hard water areas. Descale regularly to maintain efficiency.
- Fill the kettle with a mixture of 1 part white vinegar to 2 parts water, or use a commercial descaling solution according to its instructions.
- Bring the mixture to a boil and let it stand for at least 30 minutes, or longer for heavy scale.
- Empty the kettle and rinse thoroughly with fresh water several times to remove any vinegar residue.
- For stubborn deposits, gently scrub the interior with a non-abrasive sponge or brush.
- Boil fresh water 2-3 times and discard to ensure no taste or odor remains.
