4.1 Before First Use

  1. Remove all packaging materials, labels, and protective film from the soleplate.
  2. It is normal for a slight odor or smoke to be emitted during the first few minutes of use. This is due to the heating of manufacturing residues and will disappear.
  3. Test the iron on an old piece of fabric to ensure no residue is transferred to your garments.

4.2 Filling the Water Tank

  1. Ensure the iron is unplugged from the power outlet.
  2. Open the water inlet cover.
  3. Fill the water tank with distilled or demineralized water up to the 'MAX' level indicator. Do not overfill.
  4. Close the water inlet cover securely.

5. Operating Instructions

  1. Plug the iron into a suitable power outlet.
  2. Turn the temperature control dial to the desired setting based on the fabric type. Refer to garment care labels.

  3. Once the indicator light turns off, slide the steam control to the desired steam level.
  4. Iron the garment, moving the iron smoothly over the fabric.

5.3 Dry Ironing

  1. Ensure the water tank is empty or the steam control is set to the '0' or 'dry' position.
  2. Set the temperature control dial to the appropriate setting for your fabric.
  3. Once the indicator light turns off, begin ironing.

5.4 Vertical Steam

6. Maintenance and Cleaning

6.1 Emptying the Water Tank

After each use, or before storing, ensure the water tank is emptied to prevent limescale buildup and leakage.

  1. Unplug the iron and allow it to cool completely.
  2. Open the water inlet cover and invert the iron over a sink to drain the water.
  3. Close the water inlet cover.

6.2 Cleaning the Soleplate

To maintain the smooth gliding of the ceramic and tourmaline soleplate:

  • Ensure the iron is unplugged and cool.
  • Wipe the soleplate with a damp cloth and a non-abrasive cleaner if necessary.
  • Do not use metallic scourers or abrasive cleaners as they can damage the soleplate.

6.3 Anti-Calc System (Zerocalc 4X & Calc Clean)

The Imetec Activation iron features Zerocalc 4X Technology with three filters and a Calc Clean function to protect against limescale buildup, prolonging the iron's lifespan and performance.

  1. Fill the water tank with water up to the MAX level.
  2. Set the steam control to '0' (no steam) and the temperature dial to maximum.
  3. Plug in the iron and wait for the indicator light to turn off.
  4. Unplug the iron.
  5. Hold the iron horizontally over a sink. Press and hold the 'Calc Clean' button. Shake the iron gently back and forth. Hot water and steam will be expelled from the soleplate, carrying limescale particles.
  6. Release the button when the water tank is empty.
  7. Repeat this process monthly or as needed, depending on water hardness.

6.4 Storage

Once the iron has cooled completely, store it in an upright position to prevent soleplate damage. Wrap the power cord neatly around the base or handle if a cord wrap feature is present.
