5.3 Power Connection
- Ensure the power switch on the welder is in the OFF position.
- Plug the welder's power cord into a standard 110V AC power outlet.
6. Operating Instructions
6.1 Selecting Electrodes and Materials
The ARC130A is compatible with various electrode types and metals:
- Compatible Electrodes: E6011, E6013, E6014, E7018 (rod sizes below 1/8 inch / 3.2mm).
- Weldable Materials: Cast iron, mild steel, sheet metal, stainless steel, square pipe, rebar.

6.2 Welding Process
- Turn on the power switch. The digital display will illuminate.
- Adjust the current adjustment knob to the desired amperage based on the electrode type and material thickness. Refer to electrode manufacturer's recommendations.
- Insert the welding electrode into the electrode holder.
- Position the electrode near the workpiece and strike an arc. The built-in hot start function assists with quick arc initiation.
- Maintain a consistent arc length and travel speed for a smooth weld bead.
- After welding, allow the weld to cool before chipping away slag.

7. Maintenance
7.1 Regular Cleaning
- Regularly clean the exterior of the welding machine with a dry cloth.
- Ensure the cooling fan and ventilation grilles are free from dust and debris to maintain proper airflow and prevent overheating.
7.2 Cable and Connection Inspection
- Inspect all cables (electrode holder, earth clamp, power cord) for cuts, fraying, or damage before each use. Replace damaged cables immediately.
- Check that all connections are tight and secure. Loose connections can cause overheating and poor welding performance.
7.3 Storage
- Store the welding machine in a dry, clean, and well-ventilated area when not in use.
- Protect the machine from direct sunlight, rain, and excessive dust.
8. Troubleshooting
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| No power/Machine does not turn on | Power cord not plugged in; Power switch off; Circuit breaker tripped | Check power connection; Turn on power switch; Reset circuit breaker |
| No arc or weak arc | Poor earth clamp connection; Incorrect amperage setting; Wet or damaged electrode; Workpiece too thick for current setting | Ensure good earth connection; Adjust amperage; Use dry, undamaged electrodes; Consider a higher amperage or different electrode for thicker material |
| Overheat protection activated (machine stops) | Excessive continuous welding; Blocked ventilation; High ambient temperature | Allow machine to cool down; Clear ventilation; Work in a cooler environment |
| Excessive spatter | Amperage too high; Incorrect arc length; Dirty workpiece | Reduce amperage; Adjust arc length; Clean workpiece thoroughly |
