Step 2: Assemble the Track

  • If the track sections are tight during splicing, use a rubber hammer to gently tap them into place. This ensures a small gap for stability.

Operation

The SKYSEN Barn Door Hardware Kit is designed for smooth and quiet operation. The POM wheels with two internal bearings ensure minimal friction and noise as the door slides along the carbon steel track. Simply push or pull the door handle to open or close the door. The installed door stops will prevent the door from over-sliding at either end of the track.

Maintenance

  • Regular Cleaning: Wipe the track and rollers with a soft, damp cloth to remove dust and debris. Avoid abrasive cleaners.
  • Lubrication: Periodically apply a silicone-based lubricant to the roller bearings and the top of the track to maintain smooth operation. Do not use oil-based lubricants as they can attract dust.
  • Check Fasteners: Regularly inspect all bolts and screws for tightness. Re-tighten if necessary to ensure the stability and safety of the system.
  • Inspect Wheels: Check the POM wheels for any signs of wear or damage. While designed for durability, replacement may be necessary over time.

Troubleshooting

  • Door is difficult to slide: Check the track for obstructions or debris. Ensure rollers are clean and lubricated. Verify the track is level and all fasteners are tight.
  • Door makes noise when sliding: Clean and lubricate the rollers and track. Check for any loose components or unevenness in the track.
  • Door is not stable/wobbles: Ensure the floor guide is properly installed and adjusted. Verify all track mounting bolts and door roller fasteners are securely tightened. Check the wall for structural integrity.
  • Track sections do not fit together smoothly: As mentioned in installation, use a rubber hammer to gently tap sections into place. Ensure alignment before fastening.
