Operating Instructions
Your Oline ErgoAir chair offers multiple adjustment options to customize your seating experience for optimal comfort and ergonomic support.
1. Seat Height Adjustment
To adjust the seat height, locate the lever on the right side, beneath the seat cushion.
- To raise the seat: While seated, lift the lever and slightly lift your weight off the seat. The seat will rise automatically. Release the lever at the desired height.
- To lower the seat: While seated, lift the lever and apply downward pressure to the seat. The seat will lower. Release the lever at the desired height.
2. Reclining Backrest and Tilt Lock
The chair features a 2:1 synchro reclining backrest with a tilt lock function, allowing you to recline up to 135 degrees.

Figure 4: Reclining backrest and tilt adjustment.
- To recline: Pull the same lever used for height adjustment outwards. Lean back to the desired angle.
- To lock the recline: Push the lever inwards to lock the backrest in an upright or reclined position.
- Tilt Tension Adjustment: Rotate the round knob located under the seat, at the front of the mechanism plate. Turn clockwise to increase tilt tension (making it harder to recline) and counter-clockwise to decrease tension (making it easier to recline).
3. Dynamic Lumbar Support
The dynamic lumbar support responds to the pressure you place on it, pivoting to keep you supported. While not manually adjustable in position, its adaptive nature provides continuous support.

4. Flip-Up Armrests
The armrests can be flipped up to save space or allow closer access to your desk.

Figure 6: Flip-up armrests for space-saving.
- To flip up: Grasp the armrest and rotate it upwards until it locks into the vertical position.
- To lower: Gently pull the armrest downwards until it returns to the horizontal position.
5. Adjustable Headrest
The headrest can be adjusted vertically to support your neck and head regardless of your sitting position.
- To adjust: Grasp the headrest and slide it up or down to your preferred height. It will click into place at various increments.

Maintenance
Regular maintenance will help prolong the life and appearance of your Oline ErgoAir chair.
- Cleaning:
- For the mesh back and fabric seat, use a soft cloth dampened with mild soap and water. Blot gently and allow to air dry. Do not use harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners.
- For plastic and metal parts, wipe with a clean, damp cloth.
- Hardware Check: Periodically check all screws and bolts to ensure they are tight. Re-tighten if necessary to maintain stability and safety.
- Caster Wheels: Clean any debris (hair, dust) from the caster wheels regularly to ensure smooth rolling.
- Avoid Direct Sunlight: Prolonged exposure to direct sunlight can cause fading of the fabric and mesh.
Troubleshooting
If you encounter any issues with your Oline ErgoAir chair, refer to the following common problems and solutions:
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Chair does not adjust height | Gas lift cylinder malfunction or lever not fully engaged. | Ensure the height adjustment lever is fully pulled. If the issue persists, the gas lift may need replacement. Contact customer support. |
| Chair squeaks when moving | Loose hardware or friction between components. | Check and tighten all screws and bolts. Apply a small amount of silicone lubricant to moving parts if necessary, avoiding contact with fabric. |
| Caster wheels do not roll smoothly | Debris (hair, lint) caught in wheels. | Turn the chair over and carefully remove any debris from the wheels. |
| Backrest does not recline or lock | Tilt lock lever not engaged/disengaged properly, or tilt tension too high. | Ensure the tilt lock lever is in the correct position. Adjust the tilt tension knob counter-clockwise to loosen. |
