Operating Instructions

General Application

Directly spray the affected area or directly on the insects you want to target. For optimal results, spray on visible bugs such as ants, roaches, spiders, and other crawling or flying insects.

Indoor Use

For homes, spray on carpets, hard floors, and furniture from 8-12 inches away. Allow to air dry or wipe dry with a cloth or paper towel. The formula can be used on any surface that can typically withstand soap. We recommend a test spray on a small, hidden area prior to full application on fabrics and textiles. Avoid spraying on delicate fabrics such as silk and always test in an inconspicuous area first.

Outdoor Use

For outdoor surfaces and areas, spray surfaces until wet from a distance of 8-12 inches. Allow to air dry or wipe dry with a cloth or paper towel. Spray accessible areas behind appliances and cabinets, around trash cans, around window and door frames, vents, eaves, and in attics, basements, and crawl spaces.

Specific Pest Treatments

To Use as a Flying Insect Treatment:

  1. Cover exposed food and utensils, and close all windows and doors before spraying.
  2. Direct spray upward into the room's center using a slow, sweeping motion.
  3. Spray approximately 5-10 seconds for an average room. Keep the room closed for 15 minutes after spraying and thoroughly ventilate the room prior to reentry.
  4. Sweep up and throw away fallen insects.

To Use as a Treatment for Pantry, Cupboard, and Closet Areas:

  1. Before applying product to pantry, cupboards, cabinets, or closets, remove items to allow the best access and prevent treating non-target items.
  2. Spray surfaces to be treated from a distance of 8-12 inches, directly spraying ants or roaches. Use 2-4 trigger sprayer pumps, depending upon pest pressure, and thoroughly wet pests, but not to the point of saturation/runoff. Repeat as necessary.

To Use as a Spider Treatment:

  1. Spray surfaces to be treated from a distance of 8-12 inches, directly spraying pests.
  2. Spray areas where spiders are found or may hide, including dark corners of rooms and closets; cracks and crevices in walls, along baseboards and door and window frames; behind and beneath sinks, stoves, refrigerators, and cabinets; around garbage cans; and around plumbing and other utility installations.
  3. Directly spray pests, including those driven out of hiding places.

To Use as a Flea and Tick Killer for Pet Carriers, Bedding, and Kennels:

  1. Spray surfaces until wet from a distance of 6-8 inches.
  2. Allow to air dry or wipe dry with a cloth or paper towel.
  3. If bedding can be washed, use the highest heat possible. Dry normally, adding 30 minutes to time.

To Use as a Bedding Treatment for Bed Bugs, Ticks, and Fleas:

  1. Throw away all unneeded items and organize remaining items to limit pest hiding spots.
  2. Spray accessible areas of the dwelling, including mattresses and box springs.
  3. Do not come in contact with treated areas until dry.
  4. Immediately wash/dry-clean or replace the mattress and box springs.
  5. Treat wall voids particularly if the walls are infested.
  6. When traveling, isolate and treat the luggage before bringing into the dwelling.

To Use as Lawn Treatment for Fleas, Ticks, and Mites:

  1. Mow your lawn a day or two before spraying.
  2. Spray in a slow, even sweeping motion, and be sure to cover the entire lawn.
  3. Water your lawn lightly after spraying.
  4. Keep your pets and children off the lawn until dry.

To Use as Treatment Around Home Perimeter:

  1. Apply product to the outside perimeter of structure, rake back mulch, and treat the ground.

To Use as Ant Infestation Treatment:

  1. Use outdoors in lawn and in areas around flower gardens, flower beds, trees, and other areas.
  2. Directly spray ants.

To Use as Ornamental and Edible Plant Pest Treatment:

  1. Spray plants until wet.
  2. Do not spray on open wounds, abrasions, or cuts.
  3. Before your first treatment, we recommend a test spray on a small, hidden area.
  4. For best results, apply in the cool of the morning or late evening.
  5. Repeat as necessary.

Maintenance

When you run out of the concentrate, you can order more refills from BugMD.com and continue to use your existing spray bottle. This promotes sustainability and reduces waste.

Regularly check the spray nozzle for any clogs and clean if necessary to ensure consistent spray.

Troubleshooting

Issue: Product does not seem effective.

Solution: Ensure the concentrate was mixed with the correct amount of cold water (27 oz per 3.7 FL OZ concentrate bottle). Shake the bottle thoroughly before each use to ensure the ingredients are well-blended. For stubborn pests, reapply as needed, ensuring direct contact with the insects.

Issue: Spray nozzle is clogged.

Solution: Remove the spray nozzle from the bottle and rinse it thoroughly with warm water. If necessary, use a small brush or pin to clear any blockages in the nozzle opening.

Issue: Residue left on surfaces.

Solution: The plant-based oils may leave a slight residue. For hard surfaces, wipe with a clean, damp cloth after the product has dried. For fabrics, test in an inconspicuous area first and allow to air dry.
