Safety Information
Please observe the following safety precautions to prevent injury or damage to the product:
- Always operate the tumbler on a stable, level surface.
- Keep the tumbler away from water or other liquids to prevent electrical shock.
- Ensure the power cord is not frayed or damaged before plugging in.
- Do not allow children to operate the tumbler unsupervised.
- Avoid contact with moving parts during operation.
- The polishing grit contains abrasive materials. Avoid direct contact with skin and eyes. Wash hands thoroughly after handling.
- Do not overload the tumbling barrel. Refer to the operating instructions for proper fill levels.
- Unplug the tumbler from the power outlet when not in use or before cleaning and maintenance.
Setup
- Unpack Components: Carefully remove all items from the packaging and ensure all listed components are present.

Operating Instructions
Step 1: Loading the Barrel (Coarse Grind)
- Prepare Rocks/Sea Glass: Select rough rocks or sea glass. Ensure they are clean and dry. For best results, use a mix of sizes, but avoid pieces larger than 1 inch (2.5 cm).
- Add to Barrel: Place the rocks or sea glass into the rubber tumbling barrel. Fill the barrel approximately 2/3 full.
- Add Coarse Grit: Add one packet of "STEP 1 COARSE" grit to the barrel.
- Add Water: Add water until it just covers the rocks and grit. Do not overfill.
- Seal Barrel: Securely place the lid onto the barrel, ensuring a tight, leak-free seal.
Step 2: Tumbling Process
- Place Barrel: Carefully place the sealed barrel onto the tumbler base, ensuring it sits correctly on the rollers.
- Set Speed: The BRYTE Rock Tumbler features 3 adjustable speeds. Press the speed button to select your desired speed. For initial coarse grinding, a medium to high speed is generally recommended.
- Set Timer: Use the digital timer to set the tumbling duration. The tumbler features a 9-day timer. For the coarse grind, a duration of 3-7 days is typical, depending on the hardness of the rocks and desired smoothness.
- Start Tumbling: Press the power button to begin the tumbling process. The tumbler will operate continuously until the set timer expires or it is manually turned off.
Step 3: Progressing Through Grits
After each tumbling stage (Coarse, Medium, Fine), follow these steps:
- Stop Tumbler: Turn off the tumbler and unplug it.
- Empty Barrel: Carefully remove the barrel. Open the lid and empty the contents (rocks, grit, and water) into a mesh strainer over a bucket. Dispose of the used grit and water responsibly; do not pour down drains as it can cause clogs.
- Clean Rocks & Barrel: Thoroughly rinse the rocks and the inside of the barrel under running water until all grit residue is removed. Ensure no grit from the previous stage remains, as this can contaminate the next stage and hinder polishing.
- Repeat Steps 1 & 2: Return the cleaned rocks to the barrel. Add the next finer grit packet (STEP 2 MEDIUM, then STEP 3 FINE, then STEP 4 POLISH) and fresh water. Reseal the barrel and place it back on the tumbler. Set the timer for the recommended duration for each stage (typically 5-7 days for medium and fine, 7-9 days for polish).
The self-cooling premium motor ensures efficient operation throughout the long polishing cycles.

Maintenance
- Cleaning the Tumbler Base: Wipe the exterior of the tumbler base with a soft, damp cloth. Do not submerge the base in water.
- Cleaning the Barrel: After each use, thoroughly rinse the rubber barrel and lid with water to remove all grit and rock dust. Ensure the barrel is completely dry before storing or starting a new cycle.
- Belt Replacement: The tumbler uses a drive belt that may wear out over time. If the barrel stops rotating or rotates inconsistently, the belt may need replacement. Unplug the unit, carefully remove the old belt, and install the spare tumbler belt provided in your kit. Ensure the new belt is properly seated on both pulleys.
- Storage: Store the tumbler and its components in a clean, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.

Troubleshooting
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Tumbler does not turn on. | No power, loose connection, or faulty power adapter. | Ensure the power cord is securely plugged into both the tumbler and the wall outlet. Test the outlet with another device. |
| Barrel is not rotating. | Overloaded barrel, worn or dislodged drive belt, or motor issue. | Reduce the amount of rocks in the barrel. Check if the drive belt is properly seated or needs replacement (refer to Maintenance section). If the issue persists, contact customer support. |
| Unusual noise during operation. | Barrel not seated correctly, foreign object, or worn parts. | Ensure the barrel is properly centered on the rollers. Check for any debris inside the tumbler base. If the noise is excessive or persistent, it may indicate a motor or bearing issue; discontinue use and contact support. |
| Rocks are not polishing well. | Insufficient tumbling time, incorrect grit sequence, or contamination between stages. | Ensure each tumbling stage runs for the recommended duration. Thoroughly clean rocks and barrel between grit stages to prevent cross-contamination. Ensure correct grit is used for each stage. |
