4. Assembly Instructions

Follow these steps to assemble your metal detector:

1. Attach the search coil to the lower stem using the provided bolt and knob. Ensure it is securely fastened but allows for angle adjustment.
2. Connect the middle stem to the lower stem.
3. Connect the upper stem (with the control box and handle) to the middle stem. Secure all connections with the snap fasteners.
4. Wrap the search coil cable around the stem, ensuring it is not too tight or loose, and plug the connector into the control box.
5. Insert the two 9V batteries into the battery compartment located on the control box. Ensure correct polarity.
6. Adjust the armrest and stem length to a comfortable position for your height.

5. Operating Modes

Your TECLUNG GT Metal Detector offers five distinct operating modes:

• All Metal (A-M): Detects all types of metal without discrimination. This mode is ideal for general treasure hunting when you want to find any metallic object.
• Discrimination (DISC): Allows you to filter out unwanted metals (e.g., iron) to focus on specific target types. Adjust the discrimination level to ignore certain metals.
• Memory: Retains your user settings for future use, allowing you to quickly resume your preferred detection configuration.
• Jewelry: Automatically excludes iron and prioritizes non-ferrous metals, making it suitable for finding jewelry.
• Pinpoint (PP): A non-motion mode used for precise localization of a detected target, helping you narrow down the exact spot before digging.

6. Basic Operation

1. Power On: Press the POWER button to turn on the detector.
2. Select Mode: Use the MODE button to cycle through the five detection modes (All Metal, Disc, Memory, Jewelry, Pinpoint).
3. Adjust Sensitivity: Use the SENS +/- buttons to adjust the detector's sensitivity. Higher sensitivity increases detection depth but may also increase false signals in mineralized ground.
4. Adjust Volume/Backlight: Use the VOL/LIGHT buttons to adjust the audio volume or turn the backlight on/off (long press for backlight).
5. Sweeping: Hold the detector with the search coil parallel to the ground, about 1-2 inches above the surface. Sweep the coil slowly from side to side in overlapping arcs.
6. Target Indication: When a metal object is detected, the LCD display will show a target ID number and an audio tone will sound. The type of tone and ID number can help identify the metal.
7. Pinpointing: Once a target is detected, switch to Pinpoint (PP) mode. Move the coil slowly over the target area until the strongest signal is heard, indicating the center of the target.

• Cleaning: After each use, wipe down the detector with a damp cloth. Ensure the search coil is clean, especially after use in wet or sandy conditions. The control box is not waterproof; avoid exposing it to moisture.
• Storage: Store the detector in a dry, cool place. Remove batteries if storing for extended periods to prevent leakage.
• Battery Care: Use high-quality 9V batteries. Replace batteries when the low battery indicator appears on the display.
• Cable Care: Ensure the search coil cable is not pinched or damaged. Avoid excessive bending or pulling.
