4. Setup

4.1 Battery Installation

The device requires two 1.5V AAA batteries. Open the battery compartment cover on the back of the device, insert the batteries according to the polarity indicators, and close the cover securely.

4.2 App Download and Connection

To utilize the full features of the ACEGMET S9, download the 'Smart Life' application on your smartphone. Scan the QR code provided in the Quickstart Guide or search for 'Smart Life' in your device's app store. Once installed, open the app and follow the on-screen instructions to pair your laser measure via Bluetooth. Ensure Bluetooth is enabled on your smartphone and the laser measure is powered on.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1 Basic Measurement

Press the MEAS button once to activate the laser. Align the laser dot with your target. Press the MEAS button again to take a measurement. The result will be displayed on the LCD screen and, if connected, synchronized with the app.

5.2 Unit Switching

Press and hold the UNIT button to cycle through available measurement units: meters, feet, and inches. The selected unit will be indicated on the display.

5.3 Reference Points

The device allows you to set the measurement reference point from either the front or the back of the unit. This is crucial for accurate measurements depending on your starting position. Refer to the Quickstart Guide for detailed instructions on switching reference points.

5.4 Measurement Modes

The ACEGMET S9 supports multiple measurement modes:

• Distance: Single point-to-point measurement.
• Area: Measures length and width to calculate area.
• Volume: Measures length, width, and height to calculate volume.
• Pythagorean: Calculates indirect measurements using the Pythagorean theorem (e.g., height of an object).

Press the Mode Switching button to cycle through these modes. Follow the on-screen prompts for each mode to take the necessary measurements.

5.5 Data Storage and Synchronization

The device can store up to 100 data sets. When connected to the 'Smart Life' app, measurements are automatically synchronized. The app allows you to create 2D floor plans, annotate photos with measurements, and easily share your data for project collaboration.

6. Maintenance

6.1 Cleaning

Regularly clean the device with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents. Keep the laser lens clean for accurate measurements.

6.2 Storage

When not in use, store the laser measure in its provided storage bag in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures. Remove batteries if the device will not be used for an extended period.

6.3 IP54 Protection

The device has an IP54 rating, indicating protection against dust ingress and splashing water from any direction. While it offers protection, avoid submerging the device in water or exposing it to heavy rain.
