5. Setup
5.1 Battery Installation
- Locate the battery compartment cover at the base of the handle.
- Slide or unclip the cover to open the compartment.
- Insert one 9V battery, ensuring correct polarity (+/-).
- Close the battery compartment cover securely.
5.2 Attaching the Holster Clip
The included holster clip allows for convenient carrying. Attach the clip to your belt or uniform for easy access during use.

6. Operating Instructions
6.1 Power On/Off
To power on the device, slide the red power switch located on the side of the handle to the 'ON' position. A green LED indicator will light up, signifying the device is ready for use. To power off, slide the switch to the 'OFF' position.
6.2 Detection Modes (Sound & Vibration)
The metal detector offers two alarm modes: sound and vibration. Use the toggle button on the side of the device to switch between these modes based on your environment and preference.
- Sound Mode: Provides an audible alert when metal is detected.
- Vibration Mode: Provides a silent, tactile alert (vibration) when metal is detected, ideal for discreet operation or noisy environments.
Video 6.1: A brief overview of the handheld metal detector's features, including its power switch, sensitivity adjustment, and the sound/vibration mode toggle.
6.3 Adjustable Sensitivity
The device features an adjustable sensitivity level. If the detection distance does not meet your requirements, you can adjust the sensitivity. Press the low-sensitivity switch during the detection process to make the detector respond only to larger metal objects (e.g., knives, pistols) and ignore smaller metals (e.g., rings, keys, coins).

Figure 6.1: Important notice regarding the metal detector's operation: if the detector remains stationary on a metal object, the detection signal may decrease. Continuous scanning is recommended for optimal performance.
6.4 Performing a Scan
Hold the wand firmly by the handle. Move the detection surface of the wand smoothly and consistently over the area or person being inspected. The device will emit an alarm (sound, vibration, or both, depending on your selected mode) and the red LED will light up when a metal object is detected. The green LED indicates standby mode.

Figure 6.2: The high sensitivity of the handheld security scanner is demonstrated by its ability to detect various metal products such as knives, pistols, screwdrivers, and nails.
Video 6.2: A demonstration of the security metal scanner in action, showing its effectiveness in detecting hidden metal objects during a security check.
7. Maintenance
7.1 Cleaning
Wipe the device with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents, as these may damage the surface or internal components.
7.2 Storage
Store the metal detector in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures. Remove the battery if the device will not be used for an extended period to prevent battery leakage.
8. Troubleshooting
8.1 Device Not Powering On
- Ensure the 9V battery is correctly installed with proper polarity.
- Check if the battery is depleted and replace it if necessary.
- Verify the power switch is fully in the 'ON' position.
8.2 Inconsistent Detection
- Adjust the sensitivity level. If detecting small objects, ensure high sensitivity is selected.
- Ensure continuous and smooth scanning motion. Stationary detection on metal may reduce signal strength.
- Check for environmental interference from other electronic devices.
8.3 No Alarm Sound/Vibration
- Verify that the desired alarm mode (sound or vibration) is selected using the toggle button.
- Ensure the device is powered on and detecting metal.
