Setup and Installation

Follow these steps to install your Moistenland Water Flow Meter:

  1. Battery Installation: If the battery is not pre-installed, use a tool to gently unscrew the cap on the top of the meter in the unlock direction. Insert the CR2032 3V battery with the positive (+) side facing up. Screw the cap back on in the lock direction until secure.
  2. Connect to Water Source: Attach the female end of the water flow meter (the end with the rotating connector) to your water source, such as a garden faucet or hose. Ensure the connection is tight to prevent leaks.
  3. Connect Hose/Nozzle: Attach your garden hose or nozzle to the male end of the water flow meter.
  4. Orientation: Ensure the water flow meter is installed with the arrow indicating the direction of water flow. The meter is designed for water to flow from the female inlet to the male outlet.

Operating Instructions

The Moistenland Water Flow Meter features a digital display and a single button for cycling through different measurement modes. The display automatically activates when water flows through the meter.

Display Modes:

Press the button on the front of the meter to switch between the following four display modes:

  • Flow Mode (GPM): Displays the real-time water flow rate in Gallons Per Minute (GAL/Min). Minor fluctuations may occur due to real-time measurement.
  • Consumption Mode (SINGLE): Shows the water usage for a single session. This value can be reset by pressing and holding the button.
  • Average Mode (AVG): Displays the 7-day average water usage (GAL/D).
  • Total Mode (TOTAL): Shows the cumulative total water consumption since the meter was first used or last reset. The maximum measurement is 99999 gallons.

Resetting Single Consumption:

To reset the "Single water usage" (Consumption Mode), navigate to this mode and then press and hold the button until the display resets to zero.

Accuracy:

The meter provides an accuracy of 0.1 gallon for values up to 9999.9 gallons. When the total value exceeds 9999.9, the accuracy becomes 1 gallon, and the decimal point is no longer displayed.

Maintenance

  • Cleaning: Wipe the exterior of the meter with a damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
  • Waterproof Rating: The meter is IPX6 waterproof, meaning it is protected against powerful water jets. It can withstand rain and outdoor use, but it should not be submerged in water.
  • Storage: When not in use for extended periods, store the meter in a dry, cool place away from direct sunlight.
  • Battery Replacement: Replace the CR2032 3V battery when the display becomes dim or unresponsive. Follow the battery installation steps outlined in the Setup section.

Troubleshooting

  • No Display/Dim Display:
    • Check the battery. Replace the CR2032 3V battery if it is low or depleted.
    • Ensure the battery is installed correctly with the positive (+) side facing up.
  • Inaccurate Readings:
    • Ensure the meter is installed in the correct direction of water flow (indicated by an arrow on the device).
    • Check for leaks at the connections, which can affect accuracy.
    • Ensure water flow is consistent and not excessively turbulent.
  • Leaks at Connections:
    • Tighten all connections securely by hand. Do not overtighten with tools, as this can damage the threads.
    • Check if rubber washers are properly seated in the connectors. Replace if damaged.
  • Meter Not Registering Flow:
    • Ensure water is actually flowing through the meter.
    • Verify the meter is installed in the correct orientation.
    • Check for any blockages in the hose or meter.
