Setup

Operating Instructions
Brake Fluid Bleeding
- Prepare Vehicle: Ensure the vehicle is on a level surface and the parking brake is engaged. Open the hood and locate the brake fluid reservoir.
- Top Up Reservoir: Fill the brake fluid reservoir to the MAX line with new, clean brake fluid of the correct type for your vehicle.
- Connect to Bleeder Valve: Attach the selected adapter and hose assembly to the brake bleeder valve on the wheel cylinder or caliper. Start with the wheel furthest from the master cylinder (typically the rear passenger side).
- Apply Vacuum: Pump the handle of the vacuum pump repeatedly to create a vacuum. Observe the gauge; a typical bleeding vacuum is around 10-15 inHg (250-380 mmHg).
- Open Bleeder Valve: While maintaining vacuum, slowly open the brake bleeder valve (usually 1/4 to 1/2 turn). Old brake fluid and air bubbles will be drawn into the collection reservoir.
- Monitor Fluid: Continuously monitor the fluid flowing into the reservoir. Close the bleeder valve when the fluid runs clear and free of air bubbles.
- Maintain Reservoir Level: Regularly check the vehicle's brake fluid reservoir and top it up as needed to prevent air from entering the system.
- Repeat for All Wheels: Repeat the process for each wheel, moving closer to the master cylinder (e.g., rear driver, front passenger, front driver).
- Final Check: After bleeding all wheels, ensure all bleeder valves are tightened, and the brake fluid reservoir is filled to the correct level. Test the brake pedal for firmness before driving.
Vacuum Testing
The vacuum pump can also be used to test various vacuum-operated components in your vehicle, such as EGR valves, PCV valves, and vacuum regulators. Connect the pump directly to the component's vacuum line and apply vacuum. Observe the gauge for pressure stability to detect leaks or malfunctions.
