4.2 Wiring Diagram
The DTS331 is a three-phase, four-wire meter. Follow the wiring diagram carefully to ensure correct connection of the input and output phases (A, B, C) and neutral (N).

Figure 4.2: Wiring diagram illustrating the input (In) and output (Out) connections for phases A, B, C, and Neutral (N).
- Connect the incoming three-phase lines (A, B, C) and Neutral (N) to the 'In' terminals as indicated.
- Connect the outgoing three-phase lines (A, B, C) and Neutral (N) to the 'Out' terminals.
- Ensure all connections are tight and secure to prevent loose contacts and potential hazards.
5. Operating Instructions
Once installed and powered, the meter will automatically begin measuring energy consumption. The LCD display will show the total kWh by default.
5.1 Displaying Parameters
Press the 'M' button on the front of the meter to cycle through various measurement parameters. Each press will display a different value:

Figure 5.1: Illustration of various parameters displayed on the meter's LCD screen, accessible via the 'M' button.
- kWh: Total active energy consumption.
- UR (Voltage): Voltage for each phase (A, B, C).
- IR (Current): Current for each phase (A, B, C).
- PR (Active Power): Active power for each phase (A, B, C).
- qR (Reactive Power): Reactive power for each phase (A, B, C).
- PFR (Power Factor): Power factor for each phase (A, B, C).
- F (Frequency): System frequency (50/60Hz).
- Constant: Meter constant (e.g., 400imp/kWh).
- Id (Mailing Address): Device identification.
- Total / Positive / Negative Active Energy: Displays cumulative, positive, and negative active energy.
5.2 Backlight Function
The LCD display features a 15-second backlight function. This backlight automatically activates to improve visibility in low-light conditions and then turns off to conserve energy.
6. Maintenance
The KETOTEK DTS331 electricity meter is designed for long-term, maintenance-free operation. However, to ensure optimal performance and longevity, consider the following:
- Keep the meter clean and free from dust. Use a soft, dry cloth for cleaning. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
- Ensure the installation environment remains dry and within the specified operating temperature range.
- Periodically check wiring connections for tightness, especially after initial installation or if the meter is moved.
- The meter readings are non-resettable and are automatically saved even in the event of a power failure, requiring no manual data backup.
7. Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues with your KETOTEK DTS331 meter, refer to the following common problems and solutions:
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Display is blank or not lighting up. | No power supply; Loose wiring; Faulty unit. | Check power supply to the meter. Ensure all wiring connections are secure. If power is present and wiring is correct, the unit may be faulty and require replacement. |
| Incorrect readings or no energy accumulation. | Incorrect wiring; Meter overload; Internal fault. | Verify wiring against the diagram in Section 4.2. Ensure the load does not exceed the meter's maximum current rating. If issues persist, contact support. |
| LCD backlight not working. | Backlight timeout; Internal fault. | The backlight is designed to turn off after 15 seconds to save energy. Press the 'M' button to reactivate it. If it never lights up, there may be an internal fault. |
| Meter feels hot. | Overload; Loose connections. | Immediately disconnect power. Check if the connected load exceeds the meter's specifications. Inspect all wiring for loose connections. Consult a qualified electrician. |
For problems not listed here or if solutions do not resolve the issue, please contact KETOTEK customer support.
