OptimalTEMP Technology

Your Philips Azur 8000 Series Steam Iron is equipped with OptimalTEMP technology. This innovative feature means you do not need to adjust the temperature setting. You can safely iron all ironable fabrics, from delicate silk to sturdy denim, without sorting your laundry or waiting for the iron to heat up or cool down between different fabric types. The iron automatically provides the optimal combination of temperature and steam.

Using Steam

Dry Ironing

If you prefer to iron without steam, simply ensure the water tank is empty or do not activate the steam function. The OptimalTEMP technology will still provide the correct temperature for your fabric.

Automatic Shut-off

For enhanced safety and energy saving, the iron will automatically switch off if left motionless for a certain period. If left on its heel rest, it will shut off after approximately 8 minutes. If left on its soleplate, it will shut off after approximately 30 seconds. The indicator light will flash to signal that the iron has switched off. To reactivate the iron, simply pick it up.

6. Care and Maintenance

Cleaning the Soleplate

  1. After each use, unplug the iron and allow it to cool down completely.
  2. Wipe the soleplate with a damp cloth and a non-abrasive (liquid) cleaner if necessary.
  3. Do not use abrasive scouring pads, vinegar, or harsh chemicals, as these can damage the SteamGlide Elite soleplate.
