Setup

1. Initial Winding

Your automatic watch is powered by kinetic energy. If the watch has stopped or has not been worn for an extended period, it will require manual winding to initiate movement.

  • Locate the crown on the side of the watch case.
  • Ensure the crown is in its normal, pushed-in position (Position 0).
  • Rotate the crown clockwise approximately 40 times. This will build up sufficient power reserve to start the watch.
  • The second hand should begin to move smoothly.

2. Setting the Time

  • Pull the crown out to Position 1 (the outermost position).
  • Rotate the crown either clockwise or counter-clockwise to set the hour and minute hands to the correct time.
  • Once the time is set, push the crown back into its normal, pushed-in position (Position 0) to engage the movement and start the watch.

3. Adjusting the Leather Strap

The genuine leather strap features a buckle closure for a customized fit.

  • Thread the end of the strap through the buckle.
  • Insert the buckle pin into the desired hole on the strap to achieve a comfortable and secure fit on your wrist.
  • Ensure the watch is snug enough to prevent excessive movement but not so tight as to restrict circulation.

Operating Your Automatic Watch

Your RELIC automatic watch is a self-winding mechanical timepiece. It harnesses the energy from your daily activities to power its movement.

  • Daily Wear: For continuous operation, wear your watch regularly. The natural motion of your arm will keep the mainspring wound.
  • Power Reserve: A fully wound automatic watch typically has a power reserve of approximately 36-40 hours. If left unworn for longer than its power reserve, the watch will stop and require manual winding as described in the "Initial Winding" section.
  • Accuracy: Mechanical watches, including automatic movements, may exhibit slight variations in timekeeping compared to quartz watches. This is normal for mechanical movements.

Maintenance and Care

Water Resistance

Your watch is water resistant up to 30 meters (100 feet), rated at 3 ATM. This means it is suitable for:

  • Splashes
  • Brief immersion in water

Important: This watch is NOT suitable for swimming, showering, diving, or any prolonged water activities. Always ensure the crown is fully pushed in before any contact with water.

Cleaning

  • Wipe the watch case and crystal with a soft, dry, lint-free cloth.
  • For the leather strap, avoid excessive moisture. If it gets wet, allow it to air dry naturally, away from direct heat or sunlight.
  • Do not use chemical cleaners, solvents, or abrasive materials, as these can damage the watch's finish or strap.

Storage

  • When not wearing your watch, store it in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight, extreme temperatures, and strong magnetic fields.
  • The original watch box (see image below) provides suitable protection for storage.
