2. Installation Guide

While detailed instructions are included with the product package, a general overview of the installation process is provided below. Professional installation is highly recommended to ensure proper function and avoid damage.

2.1 Pre-Installation Check

Before beginning installation, ensure all components are present and undamaged. Verify compatibility with your vehicle model. You will need D2H Xenon bulbs with ballast and decoders for the low beam light, as these are not included with the headlights.

2.2 General Installation Steps

  1. Access Headlight Area: Open the hood and locate the existing headlights. Depending on your vehicle, you may need to remove parts of the bumper or fender liner to access mounting points and wiring.
  2. Disconnect Wiring: Carefully disconnect the electrical connectors from the original headlights.
  3. Remove Original Headlights: Unscrew or unclip the fasteners holding the original headlights in place and remove them.
  4. Install New Headlights: Place the VLAND LED Projector Headlights into position. Ensure a snug fit.
  5. Connect Wiring: Connect the wiring harness of the new headlights to your vehicle's electrical system. The headlights are designed for plug-and-play installation with the same wires as stock lights.
  6. Install Bulbs: Insert the D2H Xenon bulbs (with ballast and decoders) into the low beam light housing.
  7. Secure Headlights: Fasten the new headlights using the original mounting points.
  8. Test Functionality: Before reassembling any removed parts, test all light functions (DRL, turn signals, low beam, high beam) to ensure they operate correctly.
  9. Adjust Beam: Adjust the headlight beam using the up/down and left/right adjusting screws located at the back of the headlight assembly.
  10. Final Assembly: Reinstall any bumper or fender liner components removed during the process.

4. Maintenance

Proper maintenance ensures the longevity and optimal performance of your VLAND headlights.

4.1 General Care

Regularly clean the headlight lenses with a soft cloth and mild soap solution to remove dirt and debris. Avoid abrasive cleaners that can scratch the lens surface.

4.2 Moisture Management

Headlight assemblies are designed to be weatherproof. However, condensation can sometimes occur due to temperature changes. This is typically normal and should dissipate. If persistent moisture is observed, consider the following:

  • Heat Application: Apply gentle heat to the assemblies using a hairdryer or heat gun to help dry out condensation.
  • Sunlight Exposure: Remove headlight bulbs and dust caps, then park the vehicle in direct sunlight to allow natural heat to dry the interior.
  • Environmental Factors: Avoid parking in shady, damp areas or cool, damp underground parking structures. Keep the vehicle away from water, especially after washing, to allow the headlights to dry naturally.

5. Troubleshooting

This section addresses common issues you might encounter with your VLAND LED Red Lines Projector Headlights.

5.1 Lights Not Functioning / Flickering / Error Codes

If your lights do not illuminate, flicker, or trigger error codes, ensure that:

  • The correct D2H Xenon bulbs with appropriate ballasts and decoders are installed. Without a decoder, lights may not function correctly or may cause error codes.
  • All electrical connections are secure and properly seated.
  • The vehicle's electrical system is providing adequate power.

5.2 Fitment Issues

If the headlights do not fit perfectly, double-check that your vehicle is a compatible model (VW Golf 7 MK7, 2012-2017, NOT GTI/R/Xenon). Minor adjustments may sometimes be required during installation. If significant fitment issues persist, contact customer support.
