2. Safety Instructions

Adhering to these safety guidelines is crucial for preventing damage to the battery, the ebike, and personal injury.

• Do not disassemble, open, or shred the battery pack.
• Do not expose the battery to heat or fire. Avoid storage in direct sunlight.
• Do not short-circuit the battery. Do not store batteries haphazardly in a box or drawer where they may short-circuit each other or be short-circuited by conductive materials.
• Do not subject batteries to mechanical shock.
• In the event of a battery leaking, do not allow the liquid to come into contact with the skin or eyes. If contact has been made, wash the affected area with copious amounts of water and seek medical advice.
• Do not use any charger other than that specifically provided for use with the equipment.
• Keep the battery clean and dry.
• Do not leave a battery on prolonged charge when not in use.
• Do not immerse the battery in liquid.
• Do not use the battery if it is damaged or shows signs of swelling.
• Keep out of reach of children.

  • LOCK Level: Close the rail lock to remove the battery.
  • OFF Level: Turn the battery to "OFF" status. Lock the rail.
• Battery Level Light: LED indicators showing the approximate charge level.

  • 1 red, 0 green: 35% charge

  Note: To activate the battery level lights, ensure the battery is turned on with the key, then press the battery level light button. Otherwise, the lights will not illuminate.

• Charge Socket: Port for connecting the battery charger.

4. Setup and Installation

1. Unpacking: Carefully remove the battery and all accessories from the packaging. Inspect for any visible damage.
2. Mounting the Battery Base (if applicable): If your ebike frame does not have a pre-installed battery base, mount the provided base securely to the frame using the appropriate screws and tools. Ensure it is firmly attached and aligned.
3. Inserting the Battery: Align the battery with the mounted base or rail on your ebike. Slide the battery firmly into place until it clicks securely.
4. Securing the Battery: Use the provided key to turn the safe lock to the "OFF" position. This will turn off the battery and lock it securely to the rail, preventing it from being easily removed and ensuring a secure connection during riding.
5. Connecting to the Controller: Connect the discharge cable from the battery's discharge socket to the corresponding port on your ebike's motor controller. Ensure the connection is firm and correct.
6. Initial Charge: Before first use, fully charge the battery. Refer to the "Charging the Battery" section for detailed instructions.

5. Operating the Battery

Proper operation ensures the best performance and lifespan of your battery.

5.1 Turning On/Off

• To turn on the battery and power the ebike, insert the key into the safe lock and turn it from the "OFF" position to the "ON" position.
• To turn off the battery, turn the key to the "OFF" position. This will cut power to the ebike and lock it.

5.2 Checking Battery Level

With the battery turned on, press the battery level light button to illuminate the LED indicators. Refer to Section 3 (Battery Components Overview) for the meaning of the light combinations.

5.3 Removing the Battery

To remove the battery for charging or storage:

1. Ensure the battery is turned off (key in "OFF" position).
2. Turn the key to the "LOCK" position (as indicated in Figure 3.1, this position closes the rail lock to allow removal).
3. Carefully slide the battery out of its mounting base.

6. Maintenance and Care

Proper maintenance extends the life and performance of your battery.

6.1 Charging the Battery

• Use only the original GESHENG charger or a certified compatible charger.
• Connect the charger to the battery's charge socket (Figure 3.2).
• Plug the charger into a standard wall outlet.
• The charging time is approximately 7-8 hours for a full charge from empty.
• Do not overcharge the battery. Disconnect the charger once the battery is fully charged (indicated by the charger's LED light changing from red to green, or as per charger instructions).
• Charge the battery in a well-ventilated area, away from flammable materials.
• Avoid charging in extreme temperatures (below 0°C or above 40°C).

6.2 Storage

• If storing the battery for an extended period (more than one month), charge it to approximately 50-70% capacity.
• Store the battery in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
• Recharge the battery to 50-70% every 2-3 months during long-term storage to prevent deep discharge, which can damage the battery.

6.3 Cleaning

• Wipe the battery exterior with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners.
• Ensure the charging and discharge ports are free of dust and debris. Use compressed air if necessary.
• Do not spray water directly onto the battery or immerse it.
