2. Safety Information

4. Setup and Assembly

The DNKMOR Portable Charcoal Grill requires basic assembly. Please follow these steps carefully. Basic tools (not included) such as a screwdriver and wrench may be required.

1. Unpack all components and verify against the "Package Contents" list.
2. Attach the four legs to the main grill body using the provided hardware. Ensure they are securely fastened for stability.
3. Install the wooden handle onto the lid of the grill using the designated screws.
4. Place the charcoal pan inside the grill body, ensuring it sits correctly at the bottom.
5. Position the cooking grid above the charcoal pan.
6. Ensure the chimney/ventilation system on the lid is securely attached and functional.
7. Before first use, it is recommended to season the grill. This involves burning a small amount of charcoal for about 30-60 minutes to burn off any manufacturing residues and create a protective layer.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1 Lighting the Charcoal

1. Open the grill lid and ensure the charcoal pan is in place.
2. Arrange charcoal briquettes or lump charcoal on the charcoal pan. Do not overfill.
3. Apply charcoal starter fluid evenly over the charcoal. Allow it to soak for a few minutes.
4. Carefully light the charcoal using a long match or lighter.
5. Allow the charcoal to burn until it is covered with a light gray ash (approximately 15-20 minutes).

5.2 Temperature Control

The grill features a built-in thermometer on the lid and an adjustable chimney system for temperature control.

• Thermometer: Monitor the internal temperature of the grill using the integrated thermometer.
• Chimney Vent: Adjust the opening of the chimney vent on the lid to control airflow. More open means higher temperature, less open means lower temperature.
• For slow cooking or smoking, keep the vent mostly closed. For searing, open it fully.

5.3 Cooking

Once the charcoal is ready and the desired temperature is reached, place your food on the cooking grid. The grill offers approximately 110 square inches of cooking space, suitable for 4-6 burgers or a variety of other items.

The lid can be closed to retain heat and smoke for more even cooking and enhanced flavor, or kept open for direct grilling.

6. Maintenance and Cleaning

Regular cleaning and maintenance will extend the life of your grill and ensure optimal performance.

• After Each Use:
  • Allow the grill to cool completely.
  • Remove the cooking grid and charcoal pan.
  • Dispose of cooled ashes safely.
  • Clean the cooking grid with a grill brush. For stubborn residue, wash with warm soapy water.
  • Wipe down the interior and exterior of the grill body with a damp cloth.
• Periodic Maintenance:
  • Inspect all nuts and bolts periodically and tighten if necessary.
  • Store the grill in a dry, covered area when not in use to prevent rust, especially if exposed to moisture. The lid locks tightly for easy transport and storage.
