4. Setup and Connections

This section details how to connect various camera types and accessories to your IPC-5200 Plus tester.

4.1 Device Interfaces Overview

4.2 Analog (AHD/CVI/TVI/CVBS) Camera Connection

  1. Connect the BNC cable from the analog camera to the BNC input port (e.g., AHD/CVI/TVI IN) on the tester.
  2. If the camera requires power, connect the DC 12V power cable from the camera to the DC 12V 3A OUT port on the tester.
  3. On the tester's main menu, select the 'CVBS & HD Camera' application. The tester will automatically detect the camera type (AHD/CVI/TVI) and display the video feed.

4.3 IP Camera Connection with PoE

  1. Connect a network cable from the IP camera to the LAN port on the tester.
  2. On the tester's main menu, select the 'IP Camera Test' application.
  3. Navigate to the PoE power output option and turn it ON to power the camera directly from the tester.
  4. Use the 'IP Discovery' function to find the connected IP camera and view its video feed.

4.4 Cable Tracer Function

  1. Connect the network cable to be traced to the UTP/SCAN port on the tester.
  2. On the tester's main menu, select the 'Network & Cable' application, then choose 'Cable Tracer'.
  3. Use the separate cable tracer receiver unit to locate the other end of the cable or identify specific wires. The receiver will emit an audible tone and display signal strength.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1 Power On/Off

Press and hold the power button located on the side of the device to turn it on or off. The device will display a loading screen during startup.

5.2 Navigating the Interface

The IPC-5200 Plus features a touch screen interface. Tap on icons to open applications or navigate through menus. Use the physical buttons on the side for quick access to common functions like Home, Back, Search, and Brightness adjustment.

5.4 Analog/HD Camera Test (Auto HD)

  2. From the main menu, select the 'Auto HD' application.
