Setup

1. Initial Battery Activation

The stopwatch comes with a CR2032 battery. If the display is not active, check for a plastic tab in the battery compartment that needs to be removed. Refer to the 'Battery Replacement' section for details on accessing the battery compartment.

2. Setting Time and Date

  1. Press the MODE button repeatedly until the clock display mode is shown.
  2. Press and hold the START STOP SET button until the digits begin to flash.
  3. Use the LAP RESET SELECT button to cycle through the settings (hours, minutes, year, month, day).
  4. Use the START STOP SET button to adjust the flashing value.
  5. Once all settings are correct, press the MODE button to exit the setting mode.

Operating Instructions

1. Stopwatch Mode (Chronometer)

  1. Press MODE to navigate to the stopwatch screen (usually indicated by 'CHRONO' or a stopwatch icon).
  2. Press START STOP SET to start timing.
  3. Press LAP RESET SELECT to record an intermediate (lap) time. The display will show the lap time while the main timer continues to run in the background.
  4. Press START STOP SET again to pause timing.
  5. Press START STOP SET to resume timing, or LAP RESET SELECT to reset the stopwatch to zero.

2. Memory Recall

The DTM60EL can store up to 300 intermediate times.

  1. From the stopwatch mode (paused or reset), press the RECALL button.
  2. Use LAP RESET SELECT and START STOP SET to scroll through the stored lap times. The display will show lap number, lap time, and total time at that lap.
  3. Press RECALL again to exit memory recall mode.

3. Countdown Timer

  1. Press MODE to navigate to the countdown timer screen.
  2. Press and hold START STOP SET to set the countdown duration. Use LAP RESET SELECT to select digits and START STOP SET to adjust values.
  3. Press START STOP SET to start the countdown.
  4. An alarm will sound when the countdown reaches zero.

4. Alarm Function

  1. Press MODE to navigate to the alarm setting screen.
  2. Press and hold START STOP SET to activate alarm setting.
  3. Adjust the alarm time using LAP RESET SELECT and START STOP SET.
  4. Toggle the alarm ON/OFF using LAP RESET SELECT when the alarm icon is flashing.

5. Backlight Illumination

Press the dedicated backlight button (often integrated with the 'EL' or 'Light' label, or a specific button on the side/top) to activate the electroluminescent backlight for a few seconds.

Maintenance

1. Cleaning

Wipe the stopwatch with a soft, dry cloth. For stubborn dirt, a slightly damp cloth can be used. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents, as they may damage the casing or display.

2. Water Resistance

The DTM60EL is water splash resistant. It is not designed for submersion. Avoid exposing it to heavy rain or direct water jets.

3. Battery Replacement

When the display becomes dim or unresponsive, it's time to replace the CR2032 battery.

  1. Locate the battery compartment on the back of the stopwatch.
  2. Using a small Phillips head screwdriver, carefully remove the screws securing the battery cover.
  3. Gently remove the old CR2032 battery. Note its orientation (+/-).
  4. Insert a new CR2032 battery with the correct polarity.
  5. Replace the battery cover and secure it with the screws. Do not overtighten.

Note: Improper battery replacement can compromise water resistance. If unsure, consult a professional.
