Important Safety Instructions

- Always attach plug to appliance first, then plug cord into the wall outlet. To disconnect, turn any control to “off,” then remove plug from wall outlet.
- Do not use appliance for other than intended use.

Setup
Unboxing and Initial Setup
- Carefully remove all packaging materials and promotional labels from your coffee maker.
- Place the coffee maker on a flat, stable surface.
- Wash the carafe and filter basket in warm, soapy water. Rinse thoroughly and dry.
Water Filter Installation
The coffee maker includes a charcoal water filter to improve coffee taste. This filter should be replaced regularly.
- Open the top lid of the coffee maker.
- Locate the water filter holder inside the water reservoir.
- Insert the charcoal filter into the filter holder. The filter holder has a month indicator to help you track when to replace the filter. Adjust the indicator to the current month.
- Close the top lid.
First Use (Cleaning Brew)
Before brewing coffee for the first time, it is recommended to run a cleaning cycle.
- Fill the water reservoir to the 14-cup mark with fresh, cold water.
- Place an empty filter paper (or the reusable filter) in the filter basket. Do not add coffee grounds.
- Place the empty carafe on the warming plate.
- Press the 'Brew' button to start the cycle.
- Once the cycle is complete, discard the water from the carafe. Your coffee maker is now ready for use.
Operating Instructions
Brewing Coffee
- Fill the water reservoir with the desired amount of fresh, cold water using the front view water level indicator.
- Place the permanent gold tone filter or a paper filter into the filter basket.
- Add the desired amount of ground coffee into the filter. Use the included measuring scoop for accurate measurement (e.g., 1 scoop per cup).
- Place the carafe on the warming plate.
- Select your desired brew mode (Fast, Regular, Bold, or Over Ice) using the touch-screen display.
- Press the 'Brew' button to start the brewing process.
BrewChoice Plus Modes
- Fast: For a quicker brew cycle.
- Regular: Standard brewing for a balanced flavor.
- Bold: Extends the brewing time for a richer, stronger coffee.
- Over Ice: Optimized brewing process to retain full-bodied aromas when poured over ice, preventing watered-down taste.
Programmable Timer (Auto-On)
Set the coffee maker to automatically brew at a specific time.
- Prepare the coffee maker with water and coffee grounds as described in 'Brewing Coffee'.
- Press the 'Clock' button to set the current time. Use the 'Set' button to adjust hours and minutes.
- Press the 'Auto On' button. The display will show the last set auto-on time.
- Use the 'Set' button to adjust the desired auto-on time.
- Press 'OK' to confirm. The 'Auto On' indicator will illuminate, and the coffee maker will start brewing at the set time.
Brew End Signal
The coffee maker will emit an audible signal when the brewing process is complete. This signal can be silenced if desired (refer to the full user manual for specific instructions on silencing the signal).
Maintenance and Cleaning
Daily Cleaning
- After each use, discard used coffee grounds and rinse the permanent filter or filter basket.
- Wash the carafe and its lid in warm, soapy water. Rinse thoroughly.
- Wipe the exterior of the coffee maker with a soft, damp cloth.
Descaling (Clean Alert)
Mineral deposits from water can build up in your coffee maker and affect its performance. The automated descaling warning will illuminate when it's time to clean the machine.
- When the 'Clean' indicator lights up, prepare a descaling solution according to the descaling product's instructions (or use a vinegar-water solution).
- Pour the descaling solution into the water reservoir.
- Place the empty carafe on the warming plate.
- Press the 'Clean' button to start the descaling cycle. The cycle typically takes approximately 20 minutes.
- After the descaling cycle, run two full cycles with fresh, cold water to rinse the machine thoroughly.
