5. Setup and Installation

5.1. Choosing a Location

Select a location that is:

  • Dry and well-ventilated.
  • Away from direct sunlight and heat sources.
  • Accessible for connections and maintenance.
  • Securely mounted to prevent movement.

5.2. Connecting to Battery

Important: Ensure the inverter is OFF before making any connections.

  1. Identify the positive (+) and negative (-) terminals on your 12V DC battery.
  2. Connect the red battery cable to the positive (+) terminal of the inverter and then to the positive (+) terminal of the battery.
  3. Connect the black battery cable to the negative (-) terminal of the inverter and then to the negative (-) terminal of the battery.
  4. Ensure all connections are tight and secure to prevent arcing and overheating.

This image provides a detailed view of the inverter's connections, including the positive and negative terminals for battery input, intelligent cooling fans, the Power ON/OFF switch, Remote ON/OFF switch, 4 AC sockets, 2 USB ports, and the L, N, PE wire terminals for grounding.

5.3. Grounding the Inverter

For safety, the inverter must be properly grounded. Connect the provided earth wire to the grounding terminal on the inverter and to a suitable earth ground point (e.g., vehicle chassis, ground rod).

5.4. Connecting the Remote Controller

Plug the remote controller cable into the "Remote Port" on the inverter. The remote controller allows you to monitor and control the inverter from a convenient location.

Figure 5.2: Typical Wiring Diagram.

This diagram illustrates a typical setup for the inverter, showing connections from solar panels to a charge controller, then to a 12V battery (LifePO4 12V 400Ah example), and finally to the inverter. The inverter then provides AC power to various appliances such as TVs, phones, mini-fridges, and power tools.

6. Operating Instructions

6.1. Powering On/Off

  • To turn on the inverter, press the "ON/OFF" button on the inverter unit or the remote controller. The indicator light will turn green.
  • To turn off the inverter, press the "ON/OFF" button again. The indicator light will turn off.

6.2. Using AC Outlets and USB Ports

  • Plug your 120V AC appliances into the AC outlets.
  • Connect your USB-powered devices to the dual 5V/3.4A USB ports for charging.
  • Ensure the total power consumption of all connected devices does not exceed 2500W.

6.3. Understanding the LCD Display

The remote controller's LCD screen provides real-time information about the inverter's status:

  • Input Voltage: Displays the DC voltage from your battery.
  • Output Voltage: Shows the AC output voltage (typically 110-120V AC).
  • Battery Capacity: Indicates the remaining battery charge.
  • Load Wattage: Displays the current power consumption of connected devices.
  • Warning Alarms: The display will show specific warnings for low-voltage, over-voltage, overload, or short-circuit conditions.

6.4. Smart Fan Operation

The inverter's cooling fans operate intelligently. They will activate when the inverter's internal temperature exceeds 45°C or when the machine's power efficiency is greater than 40% (load capacity > 800W). The fans will stop when the internal temperature drops below 42°C or power efficiency is less than 30%, ensuring quiet operation under light loads.

7. Maintenance

  • Cleaning: Periodically clean the inverter's exterior with a dry cloth. Ensure ventilation openings are free from dust and debris. Do not use liquid cleaners.
  • Connection Check: Regularly inspect all electrical connections (battery cables, grounding wire) to ensure they are tight and free from corrosion.
  • Battery Care: Maintain your 12V battery according to its manufacturer's instructions to ensure optimal performance and lifespan of the inverter system.
  • Storage: If storing the inverter for an extended period, disconnect it from the battery and store it in a cool, dry place.
