4. Setup and Installation

The key to setting up your new remote is to match the DIP (Dual In-line Package) switches with your existing system. These small switches are typically found inside the battery compartment of your old remote or on the receiver unit within the fan canopy.

4.1. Matching DIP Switches

1. Locate DIP Switches: Open the battery compartment of your new FAN53T remote. You will see a set of 4 small switches.
2. Match Existing Settings: If you have your original remote, slide the switches in the new remote to match the exact ON/OFF pattern of the original remote's DIP switches.
3. If Original Remote is Lost: If your original remote is lost or does not exist, you will need to access the receiver unit inside your ceiling fan's canopy. Match the DIP switch settings on the new remote to those on the receiver. If you cannot access the receiver, you may need to try the 16 possible combinations of the 4 DIP switches until the remote pairs with your fan.

4.2. Battery Installation

This remote control requires one 9V battery (not included). Insert the 9V battery into the battery compartment, ensuring correct polarity. Once the DIP switches are set and the battery is installed, the remote should be ready for use.
