4. Setup and Installation

4.1 Mounting the MicroPrism

  1. Ensure the firearm is unloaded and safe.
  2. Select the appropriate mounting height using the included modular risers. The system offers 8 different height configurations.
  3. Attach the MicroPrism to a Picatinny rail, ensuring it is securely fastened. Use a torque wrench to tighten mounting screws to the manufacturer's recommended specifications (refer to product packaging for specific torque values).
  4. Position the optic for optimal eye relief (2.7 inches) and a clear sight picture.

4.2 Battery Installation

  1. Unscrew the battery cap located on the illumination control dial.
  2. Insert one CR2032 battery with the positive (+) side facing outwards.
  3. Replace the battery cap, ensuring it is tightened to maintain the waterproof seal.

4.3 Diopter Adjustment

The diopter adjustment allows you to focus the etched reticle for your individual eyesight, ensuring it appears sharp and clear.

  1. Point the optic at a plain, bright background (e.g., a clear sky or a blank wall).
  2. Look through the optic and quickly glance away.
  3. While looking away, adjust the diopter ring (located at the eyepiece) until the reticle appears perfectly sharp the instant you look through the optic. Avoid staring through the optic for too long, as your eye may compensate for an unfocused reticle.

5. Operation

5.1 Illumination Control

The MicroPrism features 13 illumination settings, controlled by the dial on the side of the optic. Rotate the dial to increase or decrease brightness. The highest settings are designed to be daylight bright. The AutoLive motion-sensing technology automatically turns the illumination off after a period of inactivity and turns it back on when motion is detected, conserving battery life.

5.2 Windage and Elevation Adjustments

The windage and elevation turrets are located on the top and side of the optic. Each click adjusts the point of impact by 0.25 MOA. To adjust, remove the protective caps and use a flathead screwdriver or a coin to turn the turrets. Turn in the direction indicated by the arrows to move the point of impact.

5.3 ACSS Raptor 7.62/.300BO Reticle Usage

The Advanced Combined Sighting System (ACSS) Raptor reticle is designed for rapid target acquisition and precise engagements at various distances. This specific reticle is calibrated for 7.62x39 and .300 AAC Blackout ballistics.

Close Range Engagement

For targets at close distances, utilize the bold outer horseshoe and the infinitely precise center chevron for fast and accurate target acquisition.

Ballistic Drop Compensation (BDC)

The reticle incorporates holdovers for bullet drop compensation, typically in 100-yard increments. These allow for accurate aiming at extended ranges without adjusting the turrets.

Wind Holds and Moving Target Leads

The ACSS Raptor reticle includes markings for wind compensation (e.g., 5 mph and 10 mph) and leads for engaging moving targets. These features assist in making precise shots under dynamic conditions.

6. Maintenance

6.1 Cleaning

  • Lenses: Use a soft, lint-free cloth and lens cleaning solution specifically designed for optics. Avoid abrasive materials or harsh chemicals. Gently wipe the lens surfaces to remove dust and smudges.
  • Housing: Wipe the exterior of the MicroPrism with a damp cloth to remove dirt and debris. Do not use solvents that could damage the finish.

6.2 Battery Replacement

Replace the CR2032 battery when the illumination becomes dim or ceases to function. Follow the steps outlined in Section 4.2.

6.3 Storage

Store the MicroPrism in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures. Ensure the illumination is turned off to prevent battery drain during storage.

  • Point of impact shifts: Ensure the mounting screws are properly torqued and the optic is securely attached to the rail. Re-zero the optic if needed.
