1. Introduction

Thank you for purchasing the Nicebay Electric Gooseneck Kettle. This manual provides essential information for the safe and efficient operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of your new kettle. Please read this manual thoroughly before first use and retain it for future reference.

2. Important Safety Instructions

  • Read all instructions before using the appliance.
  • Do not touch hot surfaces. Use handles or knobs.
  • To protect against fire, electric shock, and injury to persons, do not immerse cord, plugs, or the appliance in water or other liquid.
  • Close supervision is necessary when any appliance is used by or near children.
  • Unplug from outlet when not in use and before cleaning. Allow to cool before putting on or taking off parts, and before cleaning the appliance.
  • Do not operate any appliance with a damaged cord or plug or after the appliance malfunctions, or has been damaged in any manner. Contact customer service for examination, repair, or adjustment.
  • The use of accessory attachments not recommended by the appliance manufacturer may result in fire, electric shock, or injury to persons.
  • Do not use outdoors.
  • Do not let cord hang over edge of table or counter, or touch hot surfaces.
  • Do not place on or near a hot gas or electric burner, or in a heated oven.
  • Always attach plug to appliance first, then plug cord into the wall outlet. To disconnect, turn any control to “off,” then remove plug from wall outlet.
  • Do not use appliance for other than intended use.
  • This kettle is equipped with an Overheat & Dry Burn Protection feature, which automatically shuts off the heating element if the kettle is empty or runs dry.
  • Ensure the lid is securely closed during operation to prevent scalding from steam.

Base Controls:

  • Temp/Time Setting Button (Rotary Knob): Used to adjust desired temperature or set timer.
  • Fahrenheit/Celsius Conversion Button (°F/°C MUTE): Toggles between temperature units and mutes/unmutes sound.

4. Setup

4.1 Unpacking

Carefully remove all packaging materials from the kettle and its heating base. Ensure all components are present and undamaged. Dispose of packaging responsibly.

4.2 First Use Cleaning

  1. Fill the kettle with clean water up to the maximum fill line.
  2. Boil the water (refer to Section 5.2 for operating instructions).
  3. Discard the boiled water.
  4. Repeat this process 2-3 times to ensure the kettle is clean and free of any manufacturing residues.
  5. Wipe the exterior of the kettle and the heating base with a damp cloth.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1 Filling the Kettle

  • Remove the kettle from the heating base.
  • Open the lid and fill the kettle with fresh, cold water. Do not fill below the minimum mark or above the maximum fill line (0.8L capacity). Overfilling may cause water to spill out during boiling.
  • Securely close the lid.
  • Place the kettle firmly onto the heating base.

5.2 Heating Water

  1. Plug the power cord into a standard electrical outlet. The display will illuminate.
  2. Set Desired Temperature: Rotate the Temp/Time Setting Knob to select your desired water temperature. The display will show the target temperature.
  3. Start Heating: Press the Start/Stop button. The kettle will begin heating, and the display will show the current water temperature rising.
  4. Rapid Boil: The kettle is designed for rapid boiling, typically heating 0.8L of water in 3-5 minutes.

5.3 Temperature Control and Presets

The kettle allows precise temperature selection from 113°F to 212°F (45°C to 100°C) with ±1°F accuracy. You can switch between Fahrenheit and Celsius by pressing the °F/°C MUTE button.

Suggested temperatures for common beverages:

  • White Water: 100°F-140°F (38°C-60°C)
  • Scented Tea: 130°F-167°F (54°C-75°C)
  • Coffee: 185°F-198°F (85°C-92°C)
  • Green Tea: 192°F-200°F (89°C-93°C)
  • Black Tea: 203°F-212°F (95°C-100°C)

5.4 Keep Warm Function

After the kettle reaches the set temperature, you can activate the Keep Warm function to maintain the water temperature for a period.

  1. Set your desired temperature and start heating.
  2. Once the target temperature is reached, press the Keep Warm button. The kettle will maintain the water temperature within a few degrees of your setting.
  3. To cancel, press the Start/Stop button or remove the kettle from the base.

5.5 Pouring

The gooseneck spout is designed for precise and stable water flow, essential for pour-over coffee and delicate tea brewing.

  • Carefully lift the kettle from the heating base by its handle.
  • Tilt the kettle to pour water slowly and steadily. The narrow gooseneck spout (0.9mm) allows for excellent control over the water stream.
  • Return the kettle to the base when finished pouring.

6. Maintenance

Regular cleaning and maintenance will prolong the life of your Nicebay Electric Gooseneck Kettle.

6.1 Cleaning the Exterior

  • Always unplug the kettle and allow it to cool completely before cleaning.
  • Wipe the exterior of the kettle and the heating base with a soft, damp cloth.
  • Do not use abrasive cleaners, scouring pads, or harsh chemicals, as these can damage the finish.
  • Never immerse the kettle body or heating base in water or any other liquid.

6.2 Descaling

Mineral deposits (limescale) can build up inside the kettle, especially in hard water areas. Descaling regularly will ensure optimal performance.

  1. Fill the kettle with a mixture of 1 part white vinegar and 2 parts water, or use a commercial descaling solution according to its instructions.
  2. Bring the mixture to a boil and then let it stand for at least 30 minutes, or longer if the scale is heavy.
  3. Discard the mixture and rinse the kettle thoroughly with fresh water several times.
  4. If necessary, repeat the process until all scale deposits are removed.

6.3 Storage

When not in use, ensure the kettle is clean, dry, and stored in a cool, dry place. You can wrap the power cord around the base for tidy storage.

7. Troubleshooting

If you encounter any issues with your kettle, please refer to the following table before contacting customer support.
