During cooling and dehumidifying operations, water will accumulate inside the unit. The drainage hole allows for manual draining. Periodically check the water level and drain as necessary to prevent the unit from shutting off due to a full water tank.
6.2 Cleaning the Air Filter
The unit is equipped with a removable and washable filter screen. Clean the filter regularly (e.g., every two weeks) to maintain air quality and unit efficiency. Refer to the product packaging or manufacturer's website for specific filter cleaning instructions.
6.3 Storage
Before long-term storage, ensure the unit is completely drained of water and the filter is clean and dry. Store the unit in a cool, dry place, covered to protect it from dust.
7. Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues with your air conditioner, refer to the following common problems and solutions:
- Unit does not turn on: Check if the power cord is securely plugged into a grounded outlet. Ensure the circuit breaker has not tripped.
- Unit is not cooling effectively: Verify that the room size is within the unit's cooling capacity (up to 230 sq. ft.). Check if the air filter is clean and not obstructed. Ensure windows and doors are closed. Confirm the exhaust hose is properly installed and sealed.
- Water leakage: Ensure the unit is on a level surface. Check if the drainage plug is securely in place, or if the continuous drainage hose (if used) is properly connected and not blocked.
- Unusual noise: Ensure the unit is on a stable, flat surface. Check for any foreign objects in the air intake or exhaust vents.
- Remote control not working: Check and replace batteries if necessary. Ensure there are no obstructions between the remote and the unit's receiver.
If the problem persists after attempting these solutions, please contact COSTWAY customer support.
