Figure 1: Two types of installation methods for the solar lights. The left shows installation with screws, indicating a 3-inch (76.2 mm) distance between screw holes. The right shows installation with double-sided tape (not included).
Method 1: Screw Mounting (Recommended for permanent installation)
- Select Location: Choose an outdoor location that receives at least 4 hours of direct sunlight daily.
- Mark Drill Points: Use the provided installation template or measure 3 inches (76.2 mm) between two points on your desired surface.
- Drill Holes: Drill pilot holes at the marked points.
- Insert Anchors: Insert the plastic anchors into the drilled holes (if installing into masonry or drywall).
- Attach Screws: Drive the screws into the anchors/surface, leaving a small portion exposed.

Operating Instructions
The XLUX Solar Lights are designed for automatic operation.
- Initial Activation: Locate the push button switch on the back of the light. Press it to the "ON" position.
- Automatic Charging: During the day, the integrated mono-crystalline silicon solar panel will automatically charge the internal Ni-MH battery. This process typically takes 6-8 hours of direct sunlight.
- Automatic Illumination: At dusk, the light sensor will detect the decrease in ambient light and automatically turn on the warm white LED lamp. The light will remain illuminated for 8-12 hours, depending on the charge received during the day.
- Automatic Shut-off: At dawn, the light sensor will detect the increase in ambient light and automatically turn off the LED lamp, initiating the charging cycle again.
Important: These lights are NOT motion-activated. They operate solely based on ambient light levels.

Maintenance
To ensure optimal performance and longevity of your XLUX Solar Lights, follow these simple maintenance guidelines:
- Clean Solar Panel: Regularly wipe the solar panel with a soft, damp cloth to remove dust, dirt, and debris. A clean panel ensures maximum sunlight absorption and efficient charging.
- Clear Obstructions: Ensure no leaves, snow, or other obstructions cover the solar panel, especially during winter months.
- Battery Replacement: The Ni-MH battery is designed for long-term use. If you notice a significant decrease in light duration after several years, the battery may need replacement. Consult the manufacturer for compatible replacement batteries.
- Inspect for Damage: Periodically check the light housing and mounting for any signs of wear or damage. Address any issues promptly to maintain the rainproof integrity.
