8. Troubleshooting
This section addresses common issues you might encounter with your U6-Enterprise AP.
8.1. Device Not Powering On
- Ensure the Ethernet cable is securely connected to both the AP and a PoE+ compliant switch or injector.
- Verify that the PoE+ source is active and providing power.
- Try a different Ethernet cable or PoE port/injector.
8.2. AP Not Adopted in UniFi Network Application
- Ensure the AP and the UniFi Network Application host are on the same Layer 2 network or that Layer 3 adoption is configured correctly.
- Check firewall settings on the UniFi Network Application host to ensure necessary ports are open.
- Perform a factory reset on the AP by pressing and holding the reset button for approximately 10 seconds until the LED flashes.
- Ensure the UniFi Network Application is running and accessible.
8.3. Poor Wi-Fi Performance or Disconnections
- Check for Wi-Fi interference from other devices or neighboring networks. Adjust Wi-Fi channels in the UniFi Network Application.
- Ensure the AP is mounted in an optimal location, free from obstructions.
- Verify that the AP's firmware is up to date.
- Review client device capabilities; older devices may not fully utilize Wi-Fi 6E.
- For 6GHz devices, ensure your client device is configured to connect to the 6GHz network if band steering is not effectively pushing it. Consider creating a dedicated 6GHz SSID if necessary.
