5. Setup

5.1 Mounting the Antenna

The antenna is designed for fixed wall or pole mounting. The included mounting bracket allows for adjustment to optimize signal direction.

  1. Attach the mounting bracket to the back of the antenna using the provided screws.
  2. For pole mounting, use the U-bolts to secure the bracket to a mast (mast not included). For wall mounting, use appropriate screws (not included) to secure the bracket to a sturdy surface.
  3. Adjust the angle of the antenna using the pivot mechanism on the bracket to point towards the desired signal source.

5.2 Connecting the Antenna

The antenna comes with a 10-foot RG58 cable terminated with an RP-SMA Male connector. This connector is compatible with a wide range of wireless devices.

  1. Locate the RP-SMA Female port on your compatible device (e.g., wireless router, WiFi repeater, PCI WiFi adapter, security IP camera, video surveillance monitor).
  2. Carefully screw the RP-SMA Male connector from the antenna cable onto the device's port until secure. Do not overtighten.

6. Operating

Once installed and connected, the directional nature of this antenna requires proper aiming for optimal performance. The antenna concentrates its gain in the direction it is aimed, providing a stronger signal over longer distances.

  • Aiming: Point the front face of the panel antenna directly towards the source of the WiFi signal (e.g., your router or another access point). Slight adjustments may be necessary to find the best signal strength.
