4. Setup
4.1 Charging the Battery
- Connect the charger to a standard power outlet.
- Slide the battery pack onto the charger until it clicks into place.
- The charging indicator light on the charger will show the charging status. Refer to the charger's specific instructions for light indications.
- Once fully charged, disconnect the charger from the power outlet and remove the battery.
NOTE: Ensure the battery is fully charged before first use. Do not store the battery in a discharged state.
4.2 Installing and Removing Drill Bits/Screwdriver Bits
- Ensure the drill/driver is switched off and the battery pack is removed to prevent accidental starting.
- Hold the rear part of the chuck with one hand and rotate the front part of the chuck counter-clockwise until the chuck jaws are open wide enough to insert the bit.
- Insert the desired drill bit or screwdriver bit into the chuck. Ensure the bit is centered and fully seated.
- Rotate the front part of the chuck clockwise to tighten the jaws securely around the bit. Hand-tighten firmly.
- To remove the bit, reverse the process by rotating the front part of the chuck counter-clockwise.
5. Operation
5.1 Selecting Speed
The WX108 features a 2-speed gearbox. Use the speed selector switch located on top of the tool:
- Speed 1 (Low Speed, 0-400 rpm): Ideal for screwdriving applications and drilling larger holes in softer materials where higher torque is required.
- Speed 2 (High Speed, 0-1600 rpm): Suitable for drilling smaller holes and for applications requiring faster rotation.
5.2 Adjusting Torque
The torque adjustment collar allows you to set the desired torque level for screwdriving. The WX108 has 20+1 torque settings:
- Rotate the torque collar to align the desired setting with the arrow on the drill body.
- Lower numbers indicate lower torque, suitable for smaller screws and softer materials.
- Higher numbers provide higher torque for larger screws and harder materials.
- The drill symbol setting is for drilling applications, providing maximum torque without clutch engagement.
5.3 Drilling and Screwdriving
- Insert the appropriate bit for your task.
- Select the desired speed and torque setting.
- Hold the tool firmly with both hands if necessary.
- Position the bit on the workpiece.
- Press the trigger switch to start the tool. The LED light will illuminate.
- Apply steady, even pressure. For screwdriving, release the trigger once the screw is flush or the clutch engages. For drilling, continue until the desired depth is reached.
- To reverse the rotation, use the forward/reverse selector switch.
