3. Setup

3.1 Battery Installation

  1. Locate the battery compartment on the back of the remote control.
  2. Slide the battery cover downwards to open.
  3. Insert two AAA alkaline batteries, ensuring the correct polarity (+/-) as indicated inside the compartment.
  4. Slide the battery cover back into place until it clicks securely.

3.2 Initial Pairing

This replacement remote control is pre-programmed and typically does not require manual pairing. Once batteries are installed, point the remote towards your Mitsubishi Electric AC unit and press any button. The unit should respond, indicating successful communication.

4.1 Basic Functions

  • OFF/ON Button: Press to turn the AC unit on or off.
  • TEMP +/- Buttons: Adjust the desired temperature setting.
  • MODE Button: Cycle through operating modes (e.g., Cool, Heat, Dry, Fan, Auto).
  • FAN Button: Adjust fan speed (e.g., Auto, Low, Medium, High).

4.2 Advanced Functions

  • WIDE VANE / L-VANE-R Buttons: Control the horizontal and vertical airflow direction of the AC unit.
  • ECONO COOL Button: Activates energy-saving operation.
  • POWERFUL Button: Initiates rapid cooling or heating for a short period.
  • SMART SET Button: Recalls preferred settings.
  • NATURAL FLOW Button: Simulates a natural breeze.
  • SLEEP Button: Adjusts temperature and fan speed for comfortable sleep.
  • TIMER ON/OFF Buttons: Set a specific time for the AC unit to turn on or off.
  • WEEKLY TIMER: Program daily or weekly operating schedules. Use EDIT/SEND, SET, CANCEL, DAY, and TIME buttons to configure.
  • C/F CLOCK RESET: Press to toggle between Celsius and Fahrenheit display. Hold to reset the clock.

4.3 Setting the Clock

  1. Press the TIME button. The time display will flash.
  2. Use the TEMP +/- buttons to adjust the hour and minute.
  3. Press the TIME button again to confirm.

5. Maintenance

5.1 Battery Replacement

Replace batteries when the display becomes dim or the remote control's response is inconsistent. Always replace both batteries simultaneously with new AAA alkaline batteries. Do not mix old and new batteries or different battery types.

5.2 Cleaning

Wipe the remote control with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use liquid cleaners, abrasive materials, or chemical solvents, as these can damage the surface or internal components.

6. Troubleshooting

  • Remote not responding:
    • Check battery orientation and ensure they are fresh.
    • Ensure there are no obstructions between the remote and the AC unit's receiver.
    • Confirm the remote is pointed directly at the AC unit.
  • Display is dim or blank:
    • Replace batteries.
  • Buttons feel stiff:
    • This can occur with new remotes. Continued use typically softens the buttons.
  • Time display is only 24-hour format:
    • The remote's clock function operates in a 24-hour format. This is a design feature and cannot be changed to 12-hour format.
