Important Safety Instructions

Please read this manual thoroughly before operating your Smartmak Portable Home Steam Sauna. Retain for future reference.

  • Electrical Safety: Always plug the steam generator into a grounded outlet. Do not operate with a damaged cord or plug. Keep the power cord away from heated surfaces.
  • Water Safety: Use only clean tap water in the steam generator. Do not add essential oils or other substances directly into the water tank unless specified by the manufacturer. Ensure the water level is between MIN and MAX lines.
  • Burn Hazard: Steam is extremely hot. Avoid direct contact with steam outlet and hot surfaces of the steam generator during operation. Allow the unit to cool completely before handling or refilling.
  • Health Precautions: Consult a physician before using the sauna if you have any medical conditions, are pregnant, or are taking medication. Discontinue use immediately if you feel dizzy, nauseous, or unwell.
  • Ventilation: Ensure adequate ventilation in the room where the sauna is used. Do not use in an enclosed, unventilated space.
  • Children and Pets: Keep children and pets away from the sauna and steam generator during operation and while cooling down.
  • Placement: Place the sauna tent on a flat, stable, and heat-resistant surface. Do not place the steam generator inside the sauna tent.

Setup and Assembly

Follow these steps for quick and easy assembly.

  1. Unpack Components: Carefully remove all items from the packaging and verify against the package contents list.
  2. Assemble the Frame: Connect the stainless steel poles using the plastic connectors to form the base and top squares, then connect them with vertical poles. Ensure all connections are secure. The poles are typically labeled (A, B, C) for easy identification.

  3. Attach the Sauna Tent Cover: Drape the sauna tent cover over the assembled frame. Ensure the zippers are aligned correctly for the entrance. The flexible material allows for easy fitting over the frame.

  4. Place the Floor Mat: Lay the provided floor mat inside the sauna tent. This mat helps protect the tent's base and provides comfort.
  5. Connect the Steam Generator: Place the steam generator outside the sauna tent on a stable surface. Connect one end of the silicone steam hose to the steam generator's outlet and the other end to the designated inlet on the sauna tent. Ensure the hose is not kinked to allow for proper steam flow.

  6. Place the Chair: Unfold the provided chair and place it inside the sauna tent for comfortable seating during your session.

Operating Instructions

Enjoy a relaxing steam sauna session by following these steps.

  1. Fill Water Tank: Open the lid of the steam generator and fill the water tank with clean tap water. Do not exceed the MAX fill line. Close the lid securely.
  2. Power On: Plug the steam generator into a grounded electrical outlet. Use the ON/OFF button on the unit or the remote control to power it on.
  3. Set Time and Heating Level: Use the 'Time' buttons (+/-) to set your desired session duration (up to 99 minutes). Use the 'Heating' buttons (+/-) to select your preferred heating level (1-16).
  4. Pre-heat: Allow the steam generator to pre-heat for approximately 5-10 minutes until steam begins to flow into the tent.
  5. Enter Sauna: Once steam is consistently flowing, enter the sauna tent and zip yourself inside.
  6. Aromatherapy (Optional): If desired, place herbs or essential oils (on a cotton ball) into the herbal box located inside the tent for an aromatherapy experience.
  7. Adjust During Session: Use the remote control to adjust the time or heating level as needed during your session without opening the tent.
  8. Exit Sauna: When your session is complete or the timer runs out, power off the steam generator and carefully exit the sauna tent.

Maintenance

Proper maintenance ensures longevity and hygiene of your sauna.

  • After Each Use: Unzip the sauna tent fully and allow it to air dry completely to prevent mold or mildew. Wipe down any condensation inside the tent.
  • Steam Generator Cleaning: Regularly descale the steam generator using citric acid or a mild descaling agent to prevent mineral buildup. Ensure the unit is unplugged and cooled before cleaning.
  • Storage: When not in use, ensure the sauna tent is completely dry before folding and storing it in the provided storage bag. Store in a cool, dry place.

Troubleshooting

  • No Steam Production: Check if the water tank is filled to the appropriate level. Ensure the steam generator is powered on and the heating level is set. Verify that the steam hose is not kinked.
  • Water Leaking: Ensure all hose connections are tight and secure. Check the water tank lid for proper sealing.
  • Sauna Not Heating Sufficiently: Verify that the heating level is set to a higher setting. Ensure the tent zippers are fully closed to retain heat. In colder environments, the tent may take longer to reach desired temperatures.
  • Remote Control Not Working: Check the battery in the remote control. Ensure there are no obstructions between the remote and the steam generator.
