5. Operating Instructions
5.1. Mounting Equipment
The RIVECO 22U Open Frame Server Rack is designed for 19-inch standard equipment. It features both square holes for IT equipment and round holes for audio/video (AV) gear.
- Align your rack-mountable devices with the appropriate holes on the vertical posts.
- Use the provided M6 equipment mounting screws and cage nuts to secure your devices.
- Ensure devices are securely fastened before releasing them.
- For non-19-inch devices, utilize the provided rack shelves.
5.2. Cable Management
Proper cable management is crucial for airflow and ease of maintenance.
- Route cables neatly along the sides of the rack or through designated cable management rings (if included or purchased separately).
- Use cable ties or Velcro straps to bundle cables, avoiding excessive tension.
- Ensure cables do not obstruct airflow or access to equipment.
6. Maintenance
- Regularly inspect all screws and nuts for tightness and re-tighten if necessary.
- Clean the rack periodically with a soft, dry cloth to remove dust and debris. Avoid abrasive cleaners.
- Check casters and leveling feet for wear and tear. Replace if damaged.
- Ensure proper ventilation around the rack to prevent overheating of equipment.
7. Troubleshooting
- Rack is wobbly: Ensure all screws are tightened. If using leveling feet, adjust them to stabilize the rack. If using casters, ensure brakes are engaged when stationary.
- Equipment does not fit: Verify that your equipment is 19-inch rack-mountable. Ensure you are using the correct mounting holes (square for IT, round for AV).
- PDU not working: Check the power connection to the PDU and ensure the surge protector switch is on. If issues persist, consult the PDU's specific manual or contact support.
