4. Setup and Installation
This battery can be connected in parallel and series to create larger battery banks. Up to 5 batteries can be paralleled, and up to two 25.6V batteries can be series connected to form a 48V battery bank.
4.1. Connecting Multiple Batteries
For a battery bank consisting of multiple batteries, interconnect each battery (daisy chain) and connect the first and last BMS cable to the BMS. The batteries can be interconnected in any order.

4.2. BMS Requirement
A Battery Management System (BMS) is mandatory for safe operation and optimal performance of the LiFePO4 battery. The BMS monitors cell voltages, temperature, and alarm status, helping to localize potential problems like cell imbalance.
5. Operating Instructions
The Victron Energy LiFePO4 Smart Lithium Battery can be monitored and configured using the VictronConnect app via Bluetooth.
5.1. VictronConnect App Monitoring
The VictronConnect app allows you to get live status information and configure any Victron products with built-in Bluetooth or connected via a VE.Direct Bluetooth Smart Dongle. You can monitor cell voltages, temperature, and alarm status.

6. Maintenance
LiFePO4 batteries are robust and require minimal maintenance. However, regular monitoring through the VictronConnect app or VRM portal is recommended to ensure optimal performance and identify any potential issues early.
6.1. Remote Monitoring with VRM Portal
The Victron Remote Management (VRM) portal allows for remote configuration and monitoring of your installation when connected to the internet via a Venus GX or Color Control GX device. This provides historical data and real-time insights into your battery's performance.

7. Troubleshooting
The VictronConnect app provides diagnostic information that can assist in troubleshooting. Common issues and their potential causes include:
- Low Input Voltage: The device may be disabled if the input voltage is too low. Ensure the input power supply has enough power.
- Disabled in Settings: The device might be intentionally disabled. Check the "Output enabled" setting in the main settings page of the VictronConnect app.
- Engine Shutdown Detected: If the battery is part of a vehicle system, the charger may turn off if an engine shutdown is detected to prevent draining the starter battery. Verify engine shutdown settings are correctly configured according to your alternator.
