Operating Instructions

Follow these steps for effective rivet nut installation:

  1. Open the tool handles and screw the selected rivet nut onto the mandrel.
  2. Insert the rivet nut into the pre-drilled hole in your workpiece. Close the handles firmly to deform the rivet nut until it is securely set.
  3. To release the tool, open and close the handles continuously. The innovative auto-release design will quickly disengage the mandrel from the set rivet nut without manual unscrewing.
  4. Once released, you can add your attachment to the workpiece using a bolt.

  • Store the tool and all components in the provided carrying case to protect them from dust and damage.
  • Periodically apply a light coat of machine oil to the pivot points and moving parts to ensure smooth operation and prevent rust.
  • Mandrels are consumable parts. Inspect them regularly for wear or damage and replace as needed.

Troubleshooting

Mandrel Damage

If mandrels are frequently damaged, it may be due to uneven pressure or improper use. Ensure you are using the correct mandrel size for the rivet nut and applying even pressure during the riveting process. Additional swap mandrels (M3, M4, M5, M6, 6-32, 8-32, 10-24, 10-32, 1/4-20) are available from NEXTACK.

Rivet Nut Not Setting Properly

Ensure the correct mandrel and rivet nut size are selected for the material thickness. Apply firm and complete pressure until the rivet nut is fully deformed and secured.
